i need help with a rule please ...

i thought that the ONLY time you could run the base line was after a made basket ....

NC st made a 3, and during the inbound, a ball was kicked and went back out of bounds ... time ran off the clock and everything ... then the gtech player CONTINUED to run the baseline again?!?! am i crazy or is that NOT legal?

Team A deflects a pass out of bounds (and in the backcourt) through the baseline of Team B. After being handed the ball from the official, a player from Team B runs down the baseline to get a better passing angle. The official calls a traveling violation. Is this the correct decision? Basketball Rules

No. This is a throw-in violation. A player has free run of the baseline only after a made shot. A traveling violation is called when the ball is in bounds and in play.

Is traveling allowed when trying to inbound the ball?
There are two situations where an in bounder may travel when trying to inbound the ball. Basketball rules states that after a made basket, the inbounder may run the baseline as they look for a teammate to pass the ball too. The inbounder can run the baseline after a timeout if the timeout was taken after a made basket. The second situation is an out of bounds play other than after a made basket. Once the referee hands the ball to the in bounder, the player must stay within a three-foot area of the place they were given the ball. The in bounder may move both feet, but once they move beyond the three foot area, it becomes a violation.
