If you were Cornell!!!

Wouldn't you want to get into a slower paced game against Kentucky? Why would you play into Kentucky's hands and let them go up and down the court and utilize their athleticism. Cornell has shooters, they have a good big man. Iwould slow it down and let kentucky play lots of defence. Then on Defence let them try to beat me with the 3 ball.
In kentucky's plan I would get the ball inside and try to get Cornells big in foul trouble.
What does everybody think? Do you think Cornell will slow it down or continue a decent pace and look for the first good shot? aRE kENTUCKYS bigs going to dominate and create havic for Cornell?
And Lastly, Do we just have a Cappers Mall, everybody in on DollarBills over play of the year?

i think cornell will slow it down and play "ivy league" ball to try to keep it in the 50's or 60's as in kentucky's 2 losses they scored 65(tenn 74) and 62(s.carol 68).

I know the general consensus out there is that Cornell needs to slow the game down and I understand that thinking.

However, Cornell is a 45-50% 3-pt shooting team, and you will not do yourself a favor slowing it down and setting up to get the 3's, especially against KY who is strong on defense.

IMO, Cornell must run and keep up, and likely will not have much choice in the matter.

At a certain point in every tournament, teams appear similar in that their records are both stellar, they both have stars and their pts for and against also arent' that different.

But every year there are games that create the separation, and it appears that KY has decided since Kansas went down to go full throtle start to finish

I see no reason why they won't do it again, and this will be a game where Cornell fights to keep the score close and will run to do so

Trust DB on this one, he did not post his analysis but the bottom line is that extremely talented teams are very hard to stop and trying to slow down KY imo is a worse option than trying to run and shoot the lights out -- which is required no matter what style they play.

In the end Cornell will get run over by a better team, imo

Cornell definitely didn't play slow against Wisconsin. They touched are averaging over 80 in their first two tourney games. Even if they try, UK can still push the pace in transition and I don't think Cornell will have a choice but to try to counter attack.

Cornell just needs to keep doing what they have been successful at doing, no need to change anything imo

It's going to be very hard{cornell} to have open 3's when trying to play half court.... Imo, if cornell slows it down they will have a tough time getting open looks,i belive if they do go for the slow down game they won't score 55 points.... I belive kentucky will 75 in the slow game and close to 90 in the fast game...just my oppion fast game kentucky 88-75 slow game 75-55...let's go fast... One thing i can't see is kentucky losing and if that happens i'm 1 step further to quitting sports betting ...good luck to whoever you pick...p.s unless it's cornell and the under...lol

I think the total line gives a little indication of what the books think will happen. Also, Cornell will not run scared imo, they will push and try to get open three's in transition as was mentioned above. Sound logic regarding the under back east but who knows?

The best time to shoot as three is in transition and after an offensive rebound, Cornell played like this the whole game against Wisconsin, the pace should be fast and DB has a big play on the over thats more than enough for me
