Line Movement...

So I definitely think Butler is a good play tonight. All the $ is on the 'Cuse and I see the line at 5.5 in some places. But, man I could easily see the 'cuse blowing them out. Butler HAS to make their 3s for the is to be a game. No other way it stays close.

I also think UK stomps Cornell. I liked Calapari's comments yesterday that they are going to make sure Cornell plays their pace. These kids won't be able to run with them, and we'll see if they can make shots in transition. I do find it a little peculiar, however, that this line is dropping. I think that could just be public perception from Cornell's last game, beating a crappy Wisconsin team.

i am not sure how calipari is really gonna make cornell play his pace????

they play two bigs at all times that arent exactly super athletic to be able to guard the perimeter.

calipari can speed the game up on the offensive side all he wants. but unless he full court presses cornell all game, he will have a tough time speeding the game up.

calipari is a good recruiter, not coach, he shouldnt talk to the media about "actual" coaching lol.

Cornell ML keeps on dropping from +440 to +360, books must be getting a little nervous

In my opinion Calipari saying they are going to make Cornell play their pace is hilarious. Cornell is a very good team. They both had 5 days to prepare for this game, I believe the "smarter team" wins.

this game all depends on if kentucky has a defense to stop the cornell 3 point shot.

in the big conferences, you mostly get athletes and not exactly shooters. cornell is a team of deadly shooters, if you give them open looks from the 3 point line, most of the time they are going in.

if cornell can get their looks, this will be really really close.

kentucky will score, but i have a feeling you will be seeing a zone come out here tonight by cornell begging kentucky to match them and try to turn it into a 3 point shooting contest.

also guys when the number is 8, careful for any backdoor covers, kentucky isnt a great free throw shooting team and cornell can hit 3's pretty easy under a minute, maybe screwing a cover.

Good points JSi. I wouldn't be shocked if Cornell plays a zone as well and you could see the egos of the UK players get the best of them. I still think Wall can push the ball up the court and score in transition. They continue to do that and Cornell has an off shooting night, this could get ugly. They aren't going to manufacture points, me thinks. Live and die by the 3.

Backdoor cover is a very real possibility.

neither is temple and with the way the A10 is showing in the tournament and in the NIT, that was a better win than you would think.

you dont just beat the crap out of temple and wisconsin and also be very close to beating kansas on their home floor and say this team is not really really good.

Maybe Crappy wasn't the right word, but I felt like they were a little overrated. Both wins were impressive nonetheless.

rebounding is a key element here and a team that shoots a lot of 3's but will be outrebounded has only one chance to win, shoot the lights out.

If you look at the defensive statistics you will see that KY is superior defensively also

just another opinion here but i also think the spread will not matter, KY either will blow them out and coast to a victory (my guess) or they will lose outright

IMO, this is the typical scenario that gets setup in a tourney, a team looks great and appears as good as anybody, until the face the best talent out there and get schooled

I've missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I've been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.

UK opponents are shooting 18% beyond the Arc. The best defense against the 3 pointer for any team left in the tourney

actually temple has the best 3pt shooting defense in the country and wisconsin had a top 20 defense in the country.
