Do you think Georgetown can win this game outright?

I hope your right for my sake. I'm entering into a NCAA basketball pool tonight that's state wide and if I win I'd be able to cash my ticket tomorrow. I think that Georgetown has more offensive threats, and they play defense at the same level as Louisville. This would give them the slight edge seeing as how their offense is more potent in areas where Louisville is not. I'm also impressed by their head to head record with Louisville and the fact that they are 6-1 in their conference openers under their coach. It says that he'll plan accordingly and have them in the right state of mind for this one. Combine this with Louisville's lackluster play at home lately against lesser opponents and we have the perfect storm for an upset.

Sometimes when I make these descriptive posts, I feel as though I am doing nothing more than internally legitimizing my own picks just so I feel comfortable with making it.

Good Luck in that pool!
Georgetown is my favorite play of the day actually...
And your info is all correct, in addition to all that, Gtown has their number, that always a main factor. The best we can do is bet on what is supposed to happen, the rest is fate my man...

True but by that logic, what's supposed to happen is a Louisville win on moneyline....If i was playing this game on spread I'd def take Georgetown, and i know that they can cover. however, would the louisville moneyline be a safer option?

Nah, the safe way would be Louisville, but the Vegas way would be Georgetown which is not safe, but smart...

-Mississippi state isn't touching Baylor at home. I've watched Baylor the most out of any team in the NCAA an Perry Jones, Quincy Acy, Heslip, and Percy Miller are nearly unfadeable. This team is too versatile and everyone is a scoring threat, i expect even more defense at home.

-West Virginia has one of the most underrated big men in the country in Kevin Jones, they nearly beat the strong Baylor team I was speaking of last week on a neutral court. When playing at home they will be more attentive defensively and hit more shots against a Villanova team that struggles on the road and couldn't even beat St.John's.

Yes i agree with your rationale, and my heart is telling me to lean towards Georgetown here but it's not the spread i'm, playing. I'm looking for a straight up win. Georgetown will keep it close and most likely cover , but when you have a home team in louisville who have won 20 straight games at home and play much more focused and pressured defense at home and are looking to win this game because next up they have kentucky on the road and dont want to go 0-1 on their 5 game road trip, they might do everything they can to squeeze out a moneyline win tonight. The Louisville players were even saying that this is a must win for them, they want to preserve the home court record and they said that Pitino hasn't even discussed Kentucky with them so they aren't looking ahead. This is a tricky situation in which I am with you in your spread pick 100% however, I can see Louisville going above and beyond to pull out the win in a really big home game. and all i need is a simple moneyline win, im not sure if i want to hold Georgetown with that responsibility on the road at +6 point dogs

Baylor will still win on moneyline. Baylor is a texas school so it's not like coming all the way down from Mississippi. I'll expect fresh legs from Baylor.
