Memphis

Memphis -4.5. Why so low? I see guys on UAB but I don't understand. Can you please tell me why you guys are leaning that way? In my mind Memphis is on a roll. Plays great defense an should cover. Thanksfor your input

Its because UAB has won 26 out of the last 27 at home and are 12-0 this year. Also last year the game came down to the wire in a one point game. I guess thats why the smaller number.

have you seen UAB play--they are good and have experience.

did you see the last game they played at Memphis? UAB held it close for a half....but their best player had one of his worst games of the season, their best big man only played 19 minutes d/t foul trouble, and Memphis, despite being 216th in the country in 3 pt FG% nailed 9 of 16 threes. it is highly unlikely that even one of these circumstances occurs again in Birmingham.

the previous game at UAB was a split second away from being a win for the Blazers, instead a heartbreaking loss.

Memphis is overrated on top of that...there is no way they are the fourth best team in the country. they've played a lot of bad teams in Conference USA and their non-conference opponents have also had down years (G'town, Tenn, even the Zags have had chemistry issues this year). I for one think the Blazers have a very good chance at home in front of a national audience to win outright.

The Devil's in the Details..................

Standout 6'9 freshman Matt Simpkins has been suspend by Memphis coach for undisclosed reasons. Though they (Memphis) have won their last 2 (since suspension) handily, they may run into a match-up problem tonight against a pretty good team. It may have started last time out as evidenced by them not covering against UTEP. Maybe UAB -2 is more realistic?
