My largest play of the NCAA year

This team has been ousted from the conference tourney without winning a tourney game 4 of the last 5 year. The only exception was in 2009 when the Dukes won their first three games, then lost in the championship game to Temple.

This year, the Dukes enter the tourney on a slide having lost 6 of their last 8 games. The way the seedings have turned out has resulted in an excellent matchup for the Dukes against St Joes. ST Joes is just what the doctor ordered IMO--Dukes know they matchup well with ST Joes, a team they completely dominated in their only meeting this year which the Dukes won by 12 on St Joe's home court. The final score in alittle deceiving as the Dukes were up 16 pts at the half and stretched it to 26 pts in the 2nd half before cruising to an easy 12 pt win.

Teams which have given the Dukes trouble down the stretch did so in 2 ways--

1. their opponents protected the ball, minimized the turnovers and controlled the tempo taking away the strengths of the Dukes game --up tempo, forcing turnovers, scoring in transition.

or, 2. they dominated the glass with strong presence in the paint and minimized the Dukes 2nd chances and controlled the tempo. Dukes gave up alot of 2nd chance points to teams like Xavier, Richmond and ST Bonnie.

St Joes simply does not have the athletic talent or size to control the Dukes. Plus, Dukes will force St Joes into numerous turnovers as they do not protect the ball well. Dukes will be able to control tempo and turn this into a transition game. Look for a comfortable Dukes win Friday -- Dukes by 17

Evan: What? One name? ONE NAME!?!? Who are you? Seal?
Seth: Fogell, this ID says that you're 25 years old. Why wouldn't you just put 21, man?
Fogell: Seth, Seth, Seth. Listen up, ass-face: every day, hundreds of kids go into the liquor store with fake IDs, and every single one says they're 21. Pssh, how many 21 year olds do you think there are in this town? It's called f*cking strategy, alright?

For those interested, my posted record for NCAA hoops this year is 140-119 -- about 54%.

Last posted plays on 2/13. Since that time, have been paying attention but had to cut back on my action due to work schedule. Have been hitting between 49-52% during that time so I am not running hot by any means. Just thought I should provide an update FYI.
