my local guy...

is small time and adjusts his lines (accordingly) but his totals are always HIGH, HIGH and HIGHER!! last night i followed steel city and while he went a nice 4-1 i got f@cked with the florida total that he moved to 138+ and the new mexico total that he moved to 139+. i tail windy often and his plays are mostly over and over too.

its just frustrating. needless to say, any posted UNDERS always catch my attention! my guy's line will be 4-5 pts. higher than what the line is!

what do you guys do when your line is way off AGAINST the side you want to play? i can't look elsewhere, i don't have multiple books. should i just consider a pass?

when you are not 100% sure its always good to take a pass. with CBB there are over 300 teams to bet on....plenty of opps to make money throughout the season to get hung up on one game.

If you consistently find yourself paying your local because of his raising the line than the 1st thing to do is obvious. Screw him and take your business else where. I would not continue to give this f**ker any more cash and the satisfaction he gets from collecting. Put your money in an offshore. Great to have more than one to shop around but just get started with one and eliminate this jerk from the equation.

yeah guys, i am sending him way too much. windy, if you post 12 plays and 8 of the them are OVERS, there is just no way i can tail you because the lines are so jacked up! it just pisses me off. all my bets are the same unit and a loss that should have been a win is a hard pill to swallow!
that coupled with some bad beats lately has put me in a hole...

why? you always ask for the line first then decide if you wanna bet or not. This is actually a blessing if you know how to take advantage of it..open an online book and go for those middles..

I could be wrong, but if you play over most of the time, he might be jacking up the line for you only. Don't be predictable.

My suggestion would be to use an offshore book as well. Personally, I use 5dimes and have never had an issue with them. They accept Moneygram payments, so it is relatively easy to get money into your account. I had a similar problem with my local stiffing me on payment, so I took all my business offshore, and haven't looked back since. GL!

I agree.

Take a look at a couple totals and see which UNDER you like the best. When you call the bookie, just ask him for the total on that certain game. After he gives you the number then tell him you want the under and repeat the number to him so he can't screw you. He reminds me of my old book and I cut him off. Some people are just jerk-offs.

thats the first thing i thought. i have had a similar experience in the past. Have a buddy call it in and ask the line and see if he is inflating them to you only. If so, then have someone else put the plays in for you or hit him with a couple of unders.

Like a couple of people said earlier, try to middle him. If you hit 1 out of 20 you break even. You can also get a push and win, and the best case scenario you hit the middle. I am sure once he see's what you are doing and you hit him a few times, he will adjust his line back where you want it. I would love to have a 5 point middle oppurtunity.

you have 2 pieces of information and are biasing how you use them

on the one hand, you have cappers suggesting to take overs and you want to be on the same side. you are biasing yourself as a follower, which is fine, you can win that way

but on the other hand, your bookie is biased and offers value in the unders.

These two pieces of information are incompatible.

The simple solution is to find reliable cappers who pick unders, and win more than they lose. They don't have to be superstars picking 70%. If they can even pick 50% unders, you will win more than that because your 5 points of value will give you an edge (say 5 points on a typical 130 point game is about a 4% edge to you.

Find a guy picking 50% unders and you automatically are picking at 54%, you will win overall.

So think logically and instead of being pissed at your bookie go the other way and love the guy...let him pay you on every under

And honestly, he will not move his lines down for you because I'm guessing he gets so much over action he will love that you help balance it out

Dream situation to ever have a bookie who biases his lines that much, take advantage. Playing the middle is another easy way to win with less risk, but that does require that you take an extra 5 minutes and sign up with jack or judge for one of their preferred books.

if i was you,i would wait for a good jacked up over that you love the under on.up your units on those bets and you should crush him with the inflated lines.
