Dayton has had a great year this year. The Flyers own a 23-12SU record and now loo to knock off the Rebels so they can advance to the NIT Championship game. The NIT has been a great Tournament for Dayton not only this year but over the last 3 years posting a 5-1SU/ ATS record in that period of time, but it has been a bumpy ride on the road for the Flyers. Their ability to put up points deminishes as they only get just over 31pph, with a 7-10 record. Over the last 5 games Dayton has made some improvements to make their chances better in the NIT. The Flyer are shooting almost 47% from the feild and are averaging almost 73ppg. Defensively they can hold their opponents to just over 62ppg but that has slightly risen to just over 63ppg in their last 5 opponents. Not only have they struggled on neutral courts this year posting a 1-3 record. but has a bad history against the SEC teams in this Tournament going just 1-3 since 1997.
Ole Miss has have issues on the neutral courts as well going 1-2 this year and 3-11 over the last 3 years. The Rebels have a fast flowing offense that allows them to average almost 79ppg. Their last 5 opponents have given Ole Miss an average of almost 80ppg and also has allowed the Rebels to get almost 41rpg. Ole Miss can score and rebound the ball pretty well and I don't think this Dayton team will hang with this SEC high powered offense.

North Carolina has been roughed up all year long. The Tarheels have not found a groove to accomplish anything this year with the exception of the last 4 teams to go to the NIT Championship. Most of their success has been at Chapel Hill, However, N. Carolina will not be at home today and that has been a real problem for them this year. The Tarheels have been terrible on the road this year. Overall they are just 5-11SU averaging only 69ppg, However, their ability to rebound the ball has not been too bad getting 41rpg. But their defense has been somewhat shaky on the road this year allowing their opponents to score over 75ppg. with a 1-2SU record on neutral courts this year. In Tournament SemiFinals over the last 3 years they are just 1-3. The Tarheels are shooting just over 71% from the free throw line and less thn 30% from the arc in neutral grounds this year.
Rhode Island has been a real shcker for most that have followed them throughout the NIT. Their non-conference record over the last 3 years has been decent going 7-5SU. The Rams have had some defensive problems allowing their opponenets to shoot almost 47% this year. While they are sooting just over 40% fom the feild this year. Rhode Island has had great succsess against the ACC this year going 2-0 and 3-1 over the last 3 years.and when they are favored by 3 points or less the Rams are 2-1 over the last 3 years. The NIT has been a accomplishment for the Rams over the years posting a 6-4 record since 1997. The Tarheels are a good organization but people are not looking at the team this year they are looking at a past championship team that is not playing that well this year.
