Nesser's Saturday CBB plays

Yesterday went great with Michigan State winning convincingly against Purdue, but today is a new day. I like Vanderbilt a lot today against Florida. Vanderbilt has lost twice already this season against Florida, most recently at home on Senior night 86-76, and a game that went into Overtime 65-61 in early February. This is a Vanderbilt team that is on the brink of finally reaching the SEC championship game in 60 years, they are going to be fired up for this one and the seniors who had their night spoiled at Memorial Gym last week are going to be out for revenge. John Jenkins, who was nursing an injury returned against Mississippi State to score 29 points, 22 of them coming in the second half where Vanderbilt scored 52 points alone to knock of Mississippi State. Jenkins will be a key again today, playing against Florida where he scored 22 points in both contests, but I think the real problem for Florida this afternoon is going to be containing Jeffery Taylor, who has been playing unbelievable basketball. This should be a close game at the half, but I like what I am seeing out of this Vanderbilt team and I expect them to pull off the small upset today on a neutral court at the Georgia Dome with another strong 2nd half performance. These two teams match up well, and Vanderbilt has been looking forward to this moment ever since their senior night was spoiled by Florida at home. I think they prevail with their perimeter shooting here and strong performances coming from Taylor and Jenkins to close this one out down the stretch.

Saturday's Play
Vanderbilt +3

Final Score Projection
Vanderbilt 74
Florida 68

More to come later

Best of luck everyone.

Thanks guys, adding another one for this evening.

Arizona is in the Pac 10 championship for the first time in six years tonight playing against Washington and I like the Wildcats to prevail here. Arizona has been playing phenomenal defense throughout the Pac 10 tournament, but have failed to do much offensively. I think they will continue playing well defensively and Washington will be searching for answers on both sides of the ball all game. These are both teams I have followed closely and Washington has been a much bigger disappointment all season than Arizona, who is looking to sweep the the regular season championship and conference tournament title. Depth could be a huge factor in this game, Gant and Suggs logged 42 minutes of bench play yesterday and I expect them to tire out in the end with an already depleted bench. Today's game is going to come down to guard play and turnovers, something I think Washington will be doing early and often in this contest and will favor Arizona (turnovers). Washington is a team that lacks an incredible amount of basketball IQ, setting up motion, getting back on defense, and trying to run a play offensively for this team seems like a headache. I think the Wildcats win this one by double digits later this afternoon. Expect another big game from Derrick Williams to carry them to victory in the end.

Adding
Arizona +3.5

Final Score Projection
Arizona 80
Washington 69

Jenkins just played one of the most selfish individual basketball games I have seen all tournament, which ultimately contributed to any chance of them winning this game in the second half. Taylor should have had a lot more looks, and they failed to find anything around the paint while Jenkins was trying to find one of his 10 missed prayers to fall from the perimeter. Florida ended up being the right side here, congrats to those on the Gators .
