Nesser's Thursday-Friday Madness Plays

1-2-1 to open up the tournament, this is what I have so far for the remaining first round games on Thursday and Friday.

Thursday
Northern Colorado +15.5
Utah State +2.5
Butler +2
Princeton +13.5
Bucknell +10.5
BYU -8

Friday
Memphis +6 - Memphis +210
Hampton +23
Oakland +10.5
George Mason +1
Akron +14
Tennessee -2

(Largest Play of the First Round)
Long Island +18 (Big)
Long Island +2300 (Small)

I am taking the points big here with the dog and also sprinkling the Moneyline on Long Island against North Carolina. Long Island is ranked 4th in the nation in scoring, 3rd in the nation overall in rebounds per game at 41.8, top 15 in win-loss percentage, and have the longest win streak in the country and the most road wins. Long Island is also second to only Ohio State in allowing opponents trips to the free throw line and have an incredibly balanced and impressive scoring attack with a deep bench. This isn't a team that is used to losing games, their last loss came on January 22nd and I expect them to come into this game thinking that they can win and will give more problems to North Carolina than they want to see in the first round. They play a very fast pace game and will create a lot of problems during this contests with the Tar Heels. Their head coach thought they should have been a 13-14 seed, and he might be right after looking at their numbers across the board. They certainly aren't as big as North Carolina, but these kids can rebound, and will fight for each and every one of them. They have four guards who can pop the three pretty well (3 of them 40% or better), start two talented 6'7 forwards, and will be ready for battle on Friday. I think North Carolina will overlook this team out of Long Island, especially after the huge disappointment against Duke last time out and they will definitely have a difficult time keeping it within the number. I have seen UNC play to their level of competition a lot of times this year, and if they do that against this Long Island team, we might just see one of the biggest upsets in this tournament in recent memory. For the record, I have taken Long Island-Brooklyn not only for a considerably large wager, but also have them moving on to play Sunday in my bracket. This play isn't about being a hero, this is where my numbers fell on this game, and I firmly believe that this is the best value across the board in the first round. .

Long Island 79
North Carolina 77

Best of luck to everyone at the mall.

Nesser

Would be amazing if it happened to be honest with you. North Carolina should crush this team. I wish you luck with the points though but I need UNC to at least win a game or 2 for the sake of m brackets lol.

Evan: What? One name? ONE NAME!?!? Who are you? Seal?
Seth: Fogell, this ID says that you're 25 years old. Why wouldn't you just put 21, man?
Fogell: Seth, Seth, Seth. Listen up, ass-face: every day, hundreds of kids go into the liquor store with fake IDs, and every single one says they're 21. Pssh, how many 21 year olds do you think there are in this town? It's called f*cking strategy, alright?

LOL

FWIW--I posted LIU as my 1st round best bet the other day (in the thread about your best 1st round play). Glad Nesser is on them too. This LIU team is good, and while I'm not certain they will win outright, I absolutely believe they will cover the 17.5 point spread.

Nice to see you're on that play, Keith. Should be a much better showing than what Bucknell put together I am a Long Island believer
