Oddsfather college hoops three pack

To steal a pro wrestling name the OddsFather has been called Triple H this November but not for his body slams or off the top rope splashes but it stands for Hottest Hardwood Handicapper as TheOddsFather has owned the early college hoops season and we have another huge three pack of winners Saturday. TheOddsFather has turned a profit with every single college hoops package we have sent out this season and Friday will be no different.

LaSalle-1

LaSalle is off to a 2-2 start this season but could very well be 4-0. They held a five point lead at Villanova with under a minute to play and found a way to lose in overtime. They also had a late lead vs Pittsburgh before falling by just four points on the road. They have an impressive win over James Madison and have done all this without arguably their best player in Ramon Galloway, who has missed the first four games with a concussion.

Galloway is set to make his return today and the Crusaders will have the added advantage of a loud and proud Philly home court crowd as they play in the famous Palestra, which is known to be one of the loudest venues in college hoops.

Not only will LaSalle have the home court fans in their favor but this is actually a bigger rival game than people would think as Robert Morris is located in downtown Pittsburgh so Philly vs Pitt in the Palestra Friday. I'll take the battle tested Crusaders, who despite playing one of the toughest opening schedules around have made a great showing of themselves and will get their best player back tonight.

Florida State-4

Harvard is a clear favorite to win the Ivy League and Tommy Ammaker is the darling coach of the nation right now but Harvard has yet to face a team that plays defense like the Seminoles. Florida State is 5-0 and the best anyone has been able to do is stay within 12 points of the Seminoles this season.

Florida State has always played good defense under coach Leonard Hamilton but the offense has picked it up as well this season and this team suddenly has the feel of a team that if they stay healthy is going to be a very tough out for anyone in March. The Seminoles have scored at least 73 points in each of their five games this season and are coming off a 20-point blowout over a much improved UMASS team. Florida State has beaten the two best teams they have faced (UCF, UMASS) by a combined score of 146-103.

Harvard is 4-0 but the wins are sketchy and come against the likes of Utah, MIT, and Holy Cross. This will be by far the toughest test of the season for Harvard and while their is no doubt they deserve to be the favorite in the Ivy League, that does not necessarily mean they are going to start beating top notch ACC teams. Look for Florida State to comfortably handle a Harvard team that will not be able to deal with the Seminoles size, athleticism, and defensive intensity.

Oklahoma-3

New Head Coach Lon Kruger has the Sooners out to a 3-0 start this season. Kruger walked into a perfect situation in Norman this fall. Due to NCAA Sanctions stemming from some minor infractions under coach Sampson the expectations are relatively tame for the Sooners chances of success this season. Yet they return four of five starters and have a team that is a good fit to play the guard orientated style that coach Kruger prefers.

Steven Pledger, who was suspended for the opener vs Idaho State is pacing the way as expected 20 points and three assists per game. Pledger is one of the best shooters in the Big 12 and is a perfect fit in coach Kruger's system. Before the season started I boldly predicted that Pledger may have a chance being top two or three in the Big 12 in scoring this season because he fits this system so well and is such a good shooter when healthy and avoiding off court trouble.

Romero Osby, a 6-8 junior forward is off to a terrific start as the pivot man in the paint in Coach Kruger;s system. Osby is averaging 14 points and 10 rebounds per game thus far and is providing the Sooners with some scoring and toughness in the paint.

Santa Clara is 3-1 this season but is 216th in the nation in field goal percentage and 184th in assists per game. Two of the three wins come against California Merced and a horrible San Jose State team. They got hammered by 32 points at Cal Santa Barbara last week.

Look for the Sooners to continue their hot start under former UNLV coach Lon Kruger on Friday. Oklahoma has more depth and seems better suited for this type of tournament scenario than does Santa Clara at this point and fatigue may become a factor as the Santa Clara had to go to overtime to get past New Mexico last night.
