Wink Pitt/U Conn

No. 4 Pittsburgh Panthers (23-2 10-2 Big East) at No. 1 Connecticut Huskies -3.5 (24-1 12-1 Big East)

Both of these teams are assured of going to the Big Dance in March, but the winner of this game has the inside track at getting a number 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament.
The Huskies come into this game after beating Seton Hall 64-52 on Saturday, while the Panthers also won their last game on Saturday crushing Cincinnati 85-69.

For the Panthers to have any chance in this game they will have to contain 7' 3" Huskies' C Hasheem Thabeet (13.5 ppg 10.8.Pitt F DeJuan Blair (15.4 ppg 12.3 rpg) is only 6'7" but he is a big body at 265 pounds and leads the country with 5.8 offensive rebounds per game. The Panthers are 0-13 all-time against top-ranked teams.

The Panthers will have a hard time dealing with Thabeet, as they do not have a lot of size inside. Look for them to pack the lane to try to stop him, which will open up the court for the other Huskies to score. The Huskies are stingy on D and they will play a great game against the Panthers tonight. The home crowd will fire the Huskies up, as they should cover the spread and win this game and stay in great position to snag a number one seed in the Big Dance next month.
The Huskies are 12-1 and 8-5 ATS in Big East action, winning by 13.1 points a game and they are 9-3-1 against the spread in last 13 Monday night assignments.

Pittsburgh is 6-3 ATS in its last 9 games when playing Connecticut

Pittsburgh is 5-11 SU in its last 16 games when playing Connecticut

Connecticut is 5-0 SU in its last 5 games at home

The total has gone UNDER in 6 of Connecticut's last 8 games at home

Wiz's call:Connecticut-3
