Question about the NCAA Tournament

I have a question regarding public teams, betting percentages etc.


For the college basketball follower, we know how good George Mason and Old Dominion are. These teams could even be a higher ranked seed in the first round(6,7,8).


Now say if they are playing georgetown first round and favoured by -1. Will Vegas make the line like that hoping a public team like Georgetown is getting points and joe pub will hammer this play. Or will the fact that these mid major teams being the higher seed negate this.


it would be easy if Georgetown was the 6 seed and only favoured by 2 or something against George Mason and them being a 11. But what would be the scenario if the mid major becomes the higher rank.


Also is San Diego St considered a small team to the public? or because of their high ranking all year, are they considered a boise St(football) type team?
