Saturday's Play !! (I Like it ALOT)
lost yesterday with NC-Wilmington. Still undefeated (this season at least) with these big "I Like it ALOT" plays. For Saturday, I like Buffalo -4.5 to Bowling Green. It goes early at 1:00 pm. Here's why:
Buffalo, at 16-11 (RPI 155) still has something to play for here. They are 8-7 in the east conference of the MAC, but a win here today could push them as high as 3rd in the conference. This team has shot 48% from the field FOR THE ENTIRE SEASON ! From the stripe they shoot 66.4%. They were 5-8 on the road this year, but they still shot 47.5% from the field on the road and, more importantly, allowed opponents to shoot only 44.1% from the field. They are 2-3 for their last 5, but they still shot 46% over that span. They lost to Bowling Green at home as 11 point chalk on 1/8, so they will certainly take this team seriously today. Meanwhile, Bowling Green, losers of 6 in a row, is 12-18 on the year (RPI 248). For the year they shot only 42.8% from the field and a very lousy 63.7% from the stripe. Over their last 5 (all losses) they have allowed their opponents to shoot a whopping 48% from the field. At home all year they were 8-5, but even then, they shot only 43.1% from the field while allowing opponents, ON THEIR COURT, to shoot 45.6% from the field. I'm not a fan of taking road chalk (on Senior Day no less), but the Bulls are going to stampede the Falcons today. FWIW--a close second choice today for me was UCF +5 from Marshall. I think they win outright. Saturday's "I Like it ALOT" play is Buffalo -4.5.
