Sdsu

Assuming they beat BYU next and win out. Do they deserve a #1 seed?

Currently #4 team in the country. If they win out, 2 more wins vs BYU most likely and will be 33-1 going into the tourney. Bracketology now has them as #2 seed, a #1 seed is not out of the question.

Doubt they get a #1 seed. History has proven teams outside of the power conferences other than UNLV about 20 years ago get treated differently.

Even though I just checked their RPI and them and BYU are currently tied for 2nd behind Kansas and both of their SOS' are top 35. Who knows. Their only top 25 game was against BYU. They didn't schedule any garbage games though as their only opps outside the top 200 were conference games.

MWC teams have quality wins this year. Between BYU, SDSU, and UNLV they have wins over these solid teams below. Only 1 bad out of conference loss which was to UCSB. And between those 3 teams they only have 2 out of conference losses total, the other was @Louisville by UNLV in which UNLV led at the half.

VT
KState
Utah St

St Marys
Gonzaga

i would put them borderline 1/2...frankly would rather have them a 2 than the pressure of a 1 seed. but they are definitely in the discussion with a top 5 rpi and only one loss on the road so far at byu in a game they could have won if they played a little better

theyve beaten st marys, gonzaga, unlv twice, colorado st....all potential tournament teams

I think they will get a 2 seed but was curious if they deserved a 1. I think it will come down to who wins the conference tourneys in the 4 of the power conferences. Does Ohio St win, does Pitt win, do Kansas or Texas win? Does Duke win.

I think as long as Pitt does not win the Big East, SDSU could get a 1 seed along with OSU, Duke, and Kansas of Texas. This is assuming SDSU wins out.

If they win out and win the MWC tourney, I think they get a one seed (unless Duke, Pitt, Kansas/Texas, and Ohio State also all win out). If that happens, no way they get a one.

team knows how to play and win on the road...will pay very good dividends in the tournament knowing they can execute without the support of home crowds
