This should get some interesting remarks....

The Connecticut women's CBB team could probably beat a few of the men's teams this year.....they're solid from top to bottom with guard play and a presence in the post. I don't care what anyone says about women's sports, this team is one of the best all around teams playing right now in any sport. They will most likely pass the UCLA men as having the most consecutive wins.

Say what you want, they're legit and coach Geno gets my respect.

Probably a little late for everyone else right now. But i'm not so sure they actually beat a men's college team. You figure the size advantage alone would favor men not to mention natural speed and athleticism. Now if we talk about them covering the spread on the other hand lol jk. But in terms of WNCAAB... they are the elite and more than likely will be for years to come... i mean there are only so many elite women college players and i'd venture a guess that UCONN is the destination spot for a high percentage of them.

LOL getting carried away here. They wouldnt even compete against a high school all star team let alone any real D1 hoops team.

This is like saying the college national football champion could compete with some teams in the NFL.....truth be told the best team in the history of college sports would be a 4TD dog to any NFL team.

I dont care how good this team is they can not defeat a mens team.

They probably couldnt deafeat a womens college hoops all star team if was one formed from the remaining teams.....think about what ur saying for a minute.

PEACE

a good high school team would beat uconn women by 50

WNBA teams would often stop in Memphis if it was convenient during a day off on a road trip and play against local church league men teams to get some practice in, and lose by 30

in high school went 3-3 with a few friends, none of us played high school basketball, against the three from the girls varsity, 2002 Single A State champs, won 21-9

different dimension

when a girl dunks the ball in a game, its historic and it gets headlined on sportscenter

on any given tuesday there are 1000 dunks throughout men's catalog of games

I'm glad UVA posted that because it's even more telling than my example. I played Div. I football and a bunch of the guys on the team would always go and play basketball in the rec center. In the offseason, the men's basketball players would occasionally come in to shoot and even catch pickup games. Obviously, we were no real match for them on an overall basis but the women would do the same. We'd have to split them up amongst us cuz otherwise it was no fun to play against them. We still played at or above the rim and it was just no contest. Too much athleticism, strength and speed.

Telling it like it is as usual MCP. NightCap you're way off on this one. Probably not a D1 team where half the team can't dunk and maybe 2 in all of womens basketball. The speed alone makes for a layup line. Not to mention what would happen in the low post if a girl had to try and muscle with some 240lb. power forward. Not pretty.

Posted at 1:34am must have had a few drinks and been watching Sportscenter.

I've always wondered what our LADY GRIZ coach could have done...

Montana women’s basketball coach Robin Selvig begins his 32nd season with the Lady Griz in 2009-10. Selvig, who is in his 37th year as either a player or a coach at his alma mater, led Montana to one of its most successful seasons in 2008-09 and along with way reached some impressive personal milestones.

The Lady Griz went 28-5 last winter, matching the program record for wins in a season. They posted a 15-1 mark in Big Sky Conference play to win their third straight and 22nd regular-season conference championship, all of which have come under Selvig’s guidance.

Montana hosted and won the Big Sky tournament, which earned the program its 18th trip to the NCAA tournament.

In recognition of the team’s success, Selvig won his 19th conference coach of the year award.

Selvig coached senior guard Mandy Morales to Big Sky Conference MVP honors, Selvig’s 12th conference most valuable player. Morales capped her career by being named an honorable mention Associated Press All-American. She became the first Lady Griz player to earn honorable mention all-America honors all four years of her career.

At season’s end, Selvig had a 31-year record of 725-204.

Some peeps are happy w/ what they got and where they got it....
