Some more big 10 love tonight

Trying to parlay my winnings from the other night onto a game i've been waiting for all season in the Big 10. The Wisconsin Badgers have once again overachieved this year. Bo Ryan is a helluva coach. For this team to be at the top of the Big 10 after losing both A. Tucker and K. Taylor is quite an accomplishment. But let's face it, despite having some players step up this year, namely, T. Hughes, does anyone really think this badger team rivals last year's unit? I sure don't. You may ask yourself what does it matter. Well, from what I can tell, Michigan State has the exact same players back from last year's team. And more than any other team last year, the spartans gave wiscy fits. They beat them at home and only last by two at the Kohl Center. I'll remind you that Wiscy at the time was ranked #2 and #5 in the country during those games. Same players tonight, yet wiscy will not have their two best players from last year. And I don't think Hughes is that much of a difference maker.

MSU was ranked 8th in both polls in the preseason whereas Wiscy was unranked coming into this year. By all accounts, Wiscy has overacheived and MSU has been a mild disappointment. But here's the thing, Izzo gets his team playing their best ball at the end of year. Did you know MSU is 17-8 ATS the last five games of the year for the past five years. MSU has lost its last three road games, and has played like garbage on the road this year. They only got a couple chances left to have a notable road win. I cannot think of a better option than the place they almost won last year. The strange dynamics that occurred when they played the Hoosiers will not be present tonight. Wiscy has a great home advantage, but they've already been taken down twice this year at Kohl. Compared to recent seasons, that's a lot. They simply ain't as good as they have been. Actually, Wiscy has played their best ball on the road this season.

For the life of me, I just cannot envision MSU and their senior pg not bringing it tonight.

Spartans +5 Big (wish i could get the line when it was higher)
Spartans ML Small

Gl to all tonight.

Could not disagree with you more. I think this Badgers team is actually BETTER than last year's, mainly their defense.

That being said, I would not touch this game with a ten foot pole. I think WI will pull off the victory, but it could come right down to the wire. Should be a good game either way, but I think your analysis of this team is a little off.

Ask yourself this. If they were so much better last year, why such an early exit from the tourney?

scottywins....losing the Big 10 POY and a Second team All Big 10 player and they're a better team?....sounds like you got a big ole glass of bucky the badger backyard koolaid working. I know all about addition by subtraction, but I think your claim is way more than "a little off."

you can't judge a team as a whole by their lackluster performance in one game of the tournament. yeah, they disappointed, but that doesn't mean they were an inferior team by no means. a lot of times, games get decided by matchups. i am sure you were bothered by their early exit, but is that biasing your opinion of what was leftover is my question.

and just for the record...i don't think wiscy will do jack in this year's tourney either. that get a lot out of a little. ryan is an outstanding coach. but, honestly, i think they are not all that talented. could be wrong, we'll see. imo purdue and msu will most likely both go farther.

wow, catching no love from the masses here.

well, northwestern was like 0-20 in their last 20 big 10 contests.

my reasoning is sound here. 17-8 ATS at the end of the season is as good of a stat, maybe better than what you post. i just think that a team that really hasn't had a good road win is due for one with only a couple of these games left. its not like MSU is a bad team. they are a good team who has underperformed especially on the road this year. i'm willing to gamble that it'll change tonight. gl to u.

are you blinging yourself of the fact that State plays like garbage on the road? They are 2-4 on the road with a blowout loss to Purdue, losing to Indiana as well as loosing to the mighty Iowa Hawkeyes (12-17)putting up only 36 pts in that game. Until State can show they can hang with teams on the road I will fade them. On top of that Whisky only has 2 losses at home all year.

Ill give the points and take Whisky for 5 units.

Thanks Ron.
Seriously, I'm starting to understand why regular posters don't go into detail or explanation with their picks.

I feel like its good to explain my rationale as opposed to having someone follow "in blind faith," especially since I don't post often, nor do I keep a record, but this is a little ridiculous. 3 posts, 3 slams. I'm really not looking for criticisms about my logic, its bad enough when it is faulty and my money is lost because i'm wrong. whatever.
