THE Sports PROFIT...2nd Round

Good day Ladies and Gentlemen:

First plays of Madness for me for full units or more. Hopefully my patience pays off. Good luck everyone.

take: Ohio Bobcats/Tennessee Volunteers OVER 141 -108...3 units....game time is 3:35 p.m .e.s.t....Ohio has pulled the upset of the tourney with their offence getting all over Georgetown to the tune of 97 pts. However their defence gave up 83 and now faces a good offensive team in Tennessee who averaged just under 75 pts a game this year. Ohio averaged the same and this total should go over 141 today in a freewheeling high tempo affair. 3 units.

take: Baylor Bears -4 -108...2 units...vs Old Dominion Monarchs, game time is 5:45 p.m. e.s.t...Old Dominion also pulled an upset on the opening day by beating the Irish of Notre Dame with a stout defence to overcome a poor offensive output, but that combination won't work today. Baylor not only has a superior offence, this team can play D as well and should get it done today handily vs the Monarchs. 2 units at -4 on Baylor.

take: Washington Huskies -1.5 -101....2 units....vs New Mexico Lobos, game time is 5:50 p.m. e.s.t......I have the Huskies winning this game in my brackets and with this line coming out as it did, Vegas thinks so too. Huskies the better ball handling team here and up front are larger. New Mexico certainly had a good year but it ends here today. 2 units on Washington at -1.5.

take: Wake Forest Deamon Deacons/Kentucky Wildcats OVER 142.5 -108...2 units...game time is 8:05 p.m. e.s.t....Again another matchup that should have continuous up-tempo play with a focus on offence by both, Wake in trying to keep up and Kentucky not letting off on the gas. Kentucky is a 9 pt favorite and Wake's defence isn't their saving grace. The only way they have a shot at this game is to keep pace with Kentucky and hope for the best at the end. And that means up and down the court for them. The Over is certainly in play here at this number. OVER 142.5 for 2 units.

strong consideration:

St Mary's +4.5 vs Villanova

Kansas State -4.5 vs Brigham Young

cheers, PROFIT

The Wake/Kentucky total is now at 146.5 at some books. And it's only noon. Interesting to see how high this climbs by an 8 pm tipoff.

4-0 Yesterday in buckets, plus 2-0 in my strong considerations, a good day on the hardwood, my patience paid off.

Hope Sunday is as good to me.

Sunday action, good luck everyone.

take: Maryland Terrapins -1 -102....2 units....vs Michigan State Spartans, game time is 2:30 p.m. e.s.t....The Terps are playing great basketball down the stretch and have won 8 of their last 9 and are getting scoring from leaders like Vasquez and Williams but also from depth players as well. Michigan State is almost on the other end of the spectrum. Their late season play has left something to be desired and they barely escaped being upset by New Mexico State as a 13 pt favorite. Their scoring has been hit and miss and I think their mediocre play isn't enough to slip by today. Maryland -1 for 2 units.

take: Cornell Big Red +4.5 -109...2 units...vs Wisconsin Badgers, game time is 2:50 p.m e.s.t.....Cornell as a 12 seed took down the Temple Owls who relied on their defence all year and got by with an ok offence. Well as luck would have it, Cornell faces a similar styled squad today in Wisconin who also rely on their defence and really struggle with generating any consistent kind of offence. This matchup is bad news for the Badgers and Cornell is coming into this game with confidence. They can shoot from the perimeter well and down the 3s as well as anyone and did both against Temple. Add in a middle man in Booth and this team is a well balanced foe. Like them to win outright here, but we'll be prudent and take Cornell and the very attractive +4.5 points. 2 units.

take: Texas A+M Aggies -1.5 -105....2 units....vs Purdue Boilermakers, game time is 5 p.m. e.s.t.....If you notice a trend here you are right. A Big Ten fan I am not this year, due to the subpar performances all year by most of the teams consistently. However, that is only one factor in assessing the games today, another key one is the matchups. Purdue while showing some moxy in beating Siena when everyone thought they were one and done simply has a bad matchup here today. They are a defensive team that again, doesn't score efficiently nor are a diverse bunch. Yet they face a similarly talented Aggies sqaud who have more scoring and are a more athletic group than the Boilermakers. And that is enough for us to go on this Big 12 team against a Big 10 team today. Texas A+M -1.5 for 2 units.

take: California Golden Bears/Duke Blue Devils OVER 143 -110...2 units....game time is 5:20 p.m. e.s.t.....This won't be a full on track meet today with these two teams, but both have the talent to get it done offensively and it says here both will hit 70 pts today offensively leaving us a very strong probability of hitting this number. Duke is as well balanced a team as they have had in years, and California is tenacious on offence and find ways to get to the bucket. They will make Duke work and likely foul and those points will prove beneficial to us as the game progresses. Duke offensively should be able to do what they please against a Cali team that isn't big inside or quick in their defensive efforts. Like the OVER 143 here for 2 units.

strong consideration:
Gonzaga +7 vs Syracuse
Cornell moneyline +180 over Wisconsin

cheers, PROFIT
