Sweet 16 Picks 03/24/11-03/25/11...SteelCityPlayers

With the brackets destroyed and the pain of all the money lost last week-end Eric & I drank much beer, cried aloud, and tried to put on our game faces and re-group for this Thursday and Friday's games.

I believe that my wife hates me now?

It is terrible to feel so confident going in and then watch all of your picks blow up so rapidly. A dreadful 1-6-1 -31.1 units on posted plays last week not to mention losses that were not posted. We talked extensively about this weeks games and here are our picks and some thoughts. Good Luck to everyone that is on our teams this week! haha...

5 Dimes
3 Units Each Bet

Connecticut (pk) -110

The Aztecs play boring Basketball but simply out score the opposition. Playing at Anaheim will give the Aztecs a huge fan contingent but Alex Oriakhi should nuetralize San Diego State's front-line advantage and Kemba Walker will find a way to get the win for the Huskies.

Arizona +8.5 -110
Arizona's Derrick Williams is no doubt the man and this could be a close game. Duke cant expect to shoot threes all game long and expect it to be easy. Last week they went 5-20 on three-pointers and that wont get it done against Arizona. Duke's defensive pressure will win them the game but +8.5 points seems nice to us.

Florida -2.5 -110

Gators cant stop Jimmer but will rule the boards in this battle. Florida is simply the better team in our opinion, and we like them by 4-6 points.

Butler +5 -110
Butler +180

After taking care of Pittsburgh last week in that disturbing finish we think that the College Basketball God's simply love Butler come tourney time, what else can we think? They are a solid team that plays close and knows how to win in big games. Love the +5 points and will gamble on the out right win here. This should a great game to watch!

Marquette +4.5 -110

Marquette's Jimmy Butler took Tu Holloway out of last week's game against Xavier...That shocked the hell out of us.
Kendall Marshall is amazing and North Carolina's young team will win the game, but it will come down to the final seconds.

Kansas -10.5 -110

Morris twins harrass the hell out of Harper and take this game fairly easy.

Virginia Commonwealth +3.5
Virginia Commonwealth +157

Hard game to pick, but we like points that the Rams are getting and think they have a great chance to pick up the win and advance.
Jamie Skeen, had a bad outing against Purdue, but five other VCU players scored in double figures. If the Ram's point guard Joey Rodriguez puts together another nice game its definately winnable. We love the points and will gamble on the out right victory.

Ohio State -5.5

This is and has been OSU's tournament to win all season and they look un-beatable lately. Dont see how Kentucky can match the talent on this team.
Easy winner ( said that before however)

2011 NCAAB Tournament Record: 1-6-1 -31.1 units
2010-2011 NCAAB Regular Season Record:28-19 +15.0 units
