Syracuse Mess

Federal agents have searched the campus office of former Syracuse assistant basketball coach Bernie Fine as part of the investigation of child molestration allegations against him, according to law enforcement officials. Fine's office at the Anthony Basketball Center was searched this week according to The Associated Press.

One man's opinion...........

If you are reading this and ever become a head coach of any sport at any level and you know of an assistant molesting children, do the right thing and notify the authorities. Joe Paterno supposedly didn't, and he's gone, his image forever tainted. Another respected coach, Syracuse basketball bossman Jim Boeheim, finds himself in the middle of the ongoing investigation of assistant Bernie Fine. I find myself rooting for Boeheim not only because he is a superb coach but because his wife, Juli, is from North Alabama, my stomping grounds. Still, he gave a cloudy response to a reporter's question after Syracuse's Monday night game about his potential involvement. He said everyone would see what happened "under his watch" when the investigation is finished. I'm hoping nothing happened under his watch but we shall see. By the way, I'm taking the Orange -6 against Florida tonight.
