Tate hurt, Iowa loses

I hate when injuries play a factor in a game I played.....Iowa had them down 13 early in the first half....

Give T. Smith credit for figuring it out and making adjustments....

Minnesota hurt Iowa more by effectively switching off of ball screens tonight. Iowa depends on penetration and they couldn't get any tonight because Minnesota did a great job of switching off in the second half.

I'm a big minny basketball fan, but i completely agree w/you. Tubby won the game, by choosing to not play any of his 3 big guys in the last 13. They probably wouldn't have been able to get away with that if Tate doesn't roll his ankle. They may have been able to get a couple mismatches w/ the ball-screens if Tate was in the game.

I agree Mcallister that it helped in limiting him playing the big men in the last 13. I still think Tubby would have figured out another way to defend Iowa that would allowed them to go on a run. I think he needs to quit starting games with both Iverson and Sampson on the floor. Sampson is just to slow when he gets pulled away from the hoop.

This is the 3rd big 10 game now they have trailed by 7-10 points in the first 10 minutes of the game. Luckily the last two games he has been able to make some adjustments to shut the other team down offensively.

Wow, Minny was down 13 in the 1st half and came back to win. That has never happend in basketball before.

Minny just the better team, injuries part of the game. Minny the right side.

Minny has never played a worse 1st half under Tubby than that 1st half yesterday

They couldn't buy a bucket for the first 15 minutes or so. Will give Tubby huge props, because he knows his players and what is working and how to make half time adjustments as well as any coach I've seen

Huge win for the Gophers, especially how far they were down
