john wall is one of the best players i have ever seen play, and i've seen a helluva lotta great ones too......his numbers are amazing considering the amt of talent around him as well....nobody in the land can guard him, he makes everyone around him better, and he's a true PG...and he's considerate and not cocky like most of the great ones.....whoever lands the #1 pick in the lottery will be damn lucky to get this kid

They make him better as well....attention has be be put on Cousins and Patterson, therefore Wall doesn't suffer the double team like others do. Turner gets double teamed on a game by game basis. I think Wall is a great player but to say he's the best in the country just doesn't sit with me. Size, ability, and strength...I'm going with Evan Turner as the better pro. Turner has done some very special things for being the ONLY legitimate consistent scoring threat on that OSU squad.

Turner: 19.5 PPG, .538 FG %, 73% FT shooter, 5.8 APG, 9.4 RPG, 1.8 SPG

Wall: 16.8 PPG, .458 FG %, 78% FT shooter, 6.2 APG, 4 RPG, 1.8 SPG

Keep in mind that Turner has played 5 less games and is playing in a tougher conference. SEC is down for sure. Florida and Vandy are overrated as they have shown recently. MSU, Purdue, Wisconsin, and OSU all better than Florida and Vandy. UK's schedule hasn't exactly been tough either. Tennessee toughest SEC team.

Given the opponents played, I'd say Turner has impressed me 2x more than Wall could. I agree with Bisket....Wall has also shown a lack of discipline....has Turner?

Could make an argument for both, but for some reason... like night.. I don't really think of wall as clear cut #1 player in nation... Kid is damn good, but im not in love. I actually think cousins is not too far away from wall if you measure how important both are for UK. Wall just sometimes too sloppy and out of control too for my taste.

Wall has got insane upside; he's still first year raw though...Turner is more polished at this point in time. But Wall is the no. 1 pick, no doubt about it. There have been two freshman the past 10 years who have dominated college hoops like Wall has this year--Carmelo and Durant. Both are better pros than Turner ever will be.

We'll see! You're comparing two players that were in prolific college systems. Syracuse and Texas. Ohio State is trying to get there but you are definitely off basis with your comparison. Turner is only a junior so he is 2 years ahead of those guys....to say Turner won't ever get there is just funny. We'll see what happens when Wall complains in the NBA like he does now.

Close thread. I'm a hardcore Buckeye for life and love what Turner has meant to the team, but Wall is the better pro prospect. I can damn near guarantee you that Turner will be your college player of the year and Wall will get drafted #1 overall. Neither of them as good as Carmelo or Durant, but both likely future NBA all-stars.

C'mon cap, OSU is every bit of a national program as Texas. I haven't seen the Longhorns do much in the tourney; at least OSU made it to a title game. I can't see the logic in your argument. Durant would be a senior this year; he's averaging almost 30 in the pros....if he toyed around in college up until his junior year, where he would get more accustomed to the college game, more comfortable than just coming in as a freshman, he would've averaged 40+. He was too good for college. Meanwhile Turner's jump shot is still a work in progress after three years of college ball. Give Wall two more years and watch and see where his jump shot is by then.

Turner will be a nice player, but ask any NBA scout, and they'll tell you Wall's game is going to flourish at the next level.
