Wednesday's Play--A Don't Make Sense Play !!

lost last night with Buffalo. 2-2 for my last 4 posted plays. Those of you who've been around for awhile remember the "don't make sense" plays from baseball. Well, I got one tonight in hoops.

Miami-Ohio is 12-7 with a 5-2 record in the Mid-American conference. They are in 2nd place in the East division of the conference. They play Ball State, who is 10-9 and is also 5-2 in the Mid-American conference. Ball State is coming off a big win at home over Ohio on 1/31, which kept them in 1st place of the West division. Now I know this game is at Miami-Ohio, but how the hell is Miami-Oh a 13.5 favorite ??? You'd have to be an idiot to lay that kind of number here, right ???

WRONG !! In true "don't make sense" fashion, Miami-Ohio is gonna cover that huge number tonight. Here's why. First, despite their similar records, Miami-Oh has an RPI of 53, while Ball State's RPI is 205. Ball shoots a lousy 61% from the free throw line, while Miami-Oh hits 71% of their free throws. Other than Purdue, Ball State has not played a single top 25 team this year. Miami-Oh has played UCLA, Pittsburgh and Xavier. Ball State lost on the road to Bowling Green on 1/28, had that big win at home against Ohio on 1/31, and now must hit the road to face Miami-Oh. Can you say "letdown" ?

This line makes no sense. No way Miami-Ohio should be a 13.5 favorite.

Gimme the Redhawks -13.5.

Wednesday's "don't make sense" play is Miami-Ohio -13.5 to Ball State.

Seth: Fogell, this ID says that you're 25 years old. Why wouldn't you just put 21, man?
Fogell: Seth, Seth, Seth. Listen up, ass-face: every day, hundreds of kids go into the liquor store with fake IDs, and every single one says they're 21. Pssh, how many 21 year olds do you think there are in this town? It's called f*cking strategy, alright?

Can baseball be far behind when the "DMS" plays adorn the "Halls of the Mall"?
A couple stats that fall in line with the DMS trends:

Power ranking:

Mia Of Oh -70 / B St -199

Strength of Schedule:

Mia of Oh - 61 / B St - 228

Think you got a winner here Keith! GL
