Who is the best Freshman in the Nation?

if all 5 leave, they are all lottery picks IMO. honestly, i think Rose might be the best all around player

Derrick Rose, G, Memphis
Eric Gordon, G, Indiana
OJ Mayo, G, USC
Michael Beasley, F, Kansas State
Kevin Love, C, UCLA

Beasley is a beast! He will have an immediate impact in the NBA. I don't see Love having near the production in the NBA. Kind of like Hansbrough......great college player that probably won't be that good in the NBA (ie. Reddick, Miles Simon, etc.) Rose is talented as well, but won't be the best point guard on the floor when he meets Mr. Augustine and company tomorrow. Yes guys, I know Augustine is a sophmore, but just making a point.

Who is OJ MAYO......allyear long all we heard was HOW GOOD of a player he is/was. I cant remember him CARRYING his team to any kind of SIGNIFICANT victory.....just about every other player on that list has atleast done that......you hear about his body size and his court awareness and how that makes him an excellent NBA prospect, but how about SHOWING UP FOR A GAME . Someone remind me what has did. or has done to be crowned a great prospect...o thats right...his body size and court awareness gives him a free pass to first round and even lottery status......gimme a break. Im no expert I dont work in any scouting department and maybe this is the reason....someone enlighten me. I'll say this, I couldnt or didnt know ANYTHING about K. Love COMING INTO THE YEAR, he showed he was a player throughout the year and I respect his COLLEGIATE game, strong fundamentals and understands the game.

all will be NBA superstars, only exception might be Love who will still be above average at worst.

First of all, take a look at your brilliant sentence structure. LMAO, you got to be a fool to not realize the good player OJ Mayo is and will be in the NBA. He lead his high school team to three-straight basketball state championships, who knows how many different individual awards. Just because he didn't standout in the tournament like other freshman's have doesn't mean he isn't one of the best in the Nation. IMO he is the best freshman guard in college basketball, not taking anything away from Derrick Rose who is an excellent player but it's obvious that he plays for a much better team. Memphis has so much depth on their team that they can't concentrate on just stopping him. When teams played USC this season they focused mainly on containing OJ, Eric Gordon is also a very good freshman guard but if you want to compare the three it's a gimme on who is the best freshman guard in the Nation. If they all decide to go pro this year you will see who is picked up first out of the three. The best Freshman in the Nation IMO is Michael Beasley who hands down will be the #1 pick in the draft next year if he goes pro. Kevin Love is a very talented basketball player but like I mentioned about Rose, Love plays on a much better team with UCLA than Michael Beasley did with the Wildcats this year.

Damn dude, that was rough on me....I'll make sure I hit spell check next time I forgot to type HE and hit a period where I shouldnt of. So if that makes me stupid, I'll be it!!!! But your projection of OJ MAYO being a sure shot first gaurd taken, gimme a break....do you remember DaJuan Wagner??? LMFAO!!!!!! NEVER SAID CHIT ABOUT THE TOURNEY AND HOW THAT WAS THE CALL FOR GREATNESS, for christ sake he (OJ) played in the PAC 10, that was a division full of superstar gaurds, NOT!!!!!!! I asked what has he done all year long ( Oh you mentioned it----GOT SHUT DOWN BY OPPOSING TEAMS FOCUSING ON HIM!!!) Just because he gets DRAFTED FIRST over the other gaurds mentioned does that make the selection correct???? You must of forgot Jordan didnt go 1st overall,lmfao.........my bad...the Bulls had more talent and Jordan was lucky to be put in that situation!!!!! Scouts and teams make mistakes, I asked for examples or reasons on why OJ was touted so highly by every talking head and announcers THAT'S ALL!!!! You still failed to fill me in on what I missed. So come back to the thread and brutally do so if you may.....we can go on and on about projections and expectations, THAT AREN'T FILLED!!!!! HE AND HIS COLLEGE CAREER INCLUDED, IMO he should come back.....but like I said I am NO SCOUT, so I'll leave that to you. High school championships, LMFAO.....I personally know a guy who done very well in high school and college careers, he went to Overbrook High in New Jersey and WON THE HEISMAN AT WISCONSIN...........HOW IS RON DAYNE DOING IN THE PROS??? BTW if opposite teams find it that easy to shutdown a superstar gaurd and he fails to get his teammates involved to the point they help lift the squad to a KEY WIN OR SO THROUGH OUT THE YEAR, HOW MUCH COURT AWARENESS DOES HE REALLY HAVE?? I offer you Rajon Rando from Kentucky now of the Boston Celtics, oopps........he has superstars surrounding him so that wouldnt count. He couldnt throw a ball in the river at Kentucky, but upon working on his game and working twice as hard on defense(where he thrives) he has come to be a GOOD gaurd IN THE NBA when NOT MANY SCOUTS AND ANNOUNCERS THOUGHT HE HAD MUCH OF A CHANCE TO CRACK A STARTING LINE UP Save this post and when he carries the Grizzlies to a NBA title I'll eat my words, because if I am correct........the bad teams get the lottery picks!!!!! So I guess he'll be at a disadvantage in the pros also as you stated he was in college......... He'll be just fine there though, he will be able to just turn it on like a light switch since its only the NBA, he just didnt think it was needed by his team this year beings his TEAM STUNK!!!! Thanks and I always liked MATHEMATICS ALOT BETTER THE ENGLISH
