Who are the Elite CBB Programs?

IMO, I can come up with four who stand above the rest in terms of tradition of winning, AND recent success:

UNC
Duke
UCLA
Kansas

I would put on a 2nd tier these programs:

Kentucky
U-Conn
Cuse
L'Ville
Zona (maybe take these guys off the list if someone besides Lute O. coaches.
Indiana (see above)
Florida (2 rings in a row)
Georgetown
Mich. St.

Going back to 1982, I think there are only 5 schools who have won it all that aren't on this list: Maryland, Nova, NC State, UNLV and Arkansas.

Would MSU join the top 4 if they win tomorrrow? Yes, I know they'll probably get blown out, so save your comments in that respect. What is a little different in terms of MSU is the lack of a national recruiting presence. Pretty much everyone on the team is from the Midwest except for Chris Allen.

Give me your opinions....

Indiana, Kentucky are for sure top tier programs in hoops. Mich St is too whether they win tomorrow or not.

1st tier looks good

2nd tier

Indiana at the top, followed by Michigan State, UCONN, L'ville, Zona, Florida, Gtown, Cuse in that order

Indiana has 5 championships. Will have a few more after Crean is done. Coaches leave good jobs to coach at IU because it is a top 7 program.

top 6 Id say

so #1 team on 2nd tier

it all depends on how you group it

if top 5 is 1st tier or top 10 is first tier

Duke has only fell off last 5 years, if you go down that road, gotta take Indi, Kentucky off too.

Duke has so many final fours to go along with 3 National Championships

No Way either of those has the tradition Duke has

Hate them, as I do, but you gotta respect them
