Who are the final 2 teams in the tournament?

Automatic qualifiers (31): West Virginia, Kansas, SD St, Washington, New Mexico St, St Mary's, Vermont, E Tennessee St, Montana, Winthrop, UC Santa Barbara, Old Dominion, Houston, Butler, Cornell, Siena, Ohio, Morgan St, Northern Iowa, Robert Morris, Murray St, Lehigh, Wofford, Sam Houston St, Oakland, North Texas, Ark Pine Bluff, and assuming today Duke, Ohio St, Kentucky, and Temple.

Locks or Should Be In (32): Maryland, Florida St, Clemson, Wake Forest, Georgia Tech, Richmond, Xavier, Villanova, Syracuse, Pittsburgh, Georgetown, Louisville, Notre Dame, Marquette, Purdue, Michigan St, Wisconsin, Kansas St, Baylor, Missouri, Texas, Texas A&M, Oklahoma St, New Mexico, BYU, UNLV, California, Vanderbilt, Tennessee, Utah St, Gonzaga, and UTEP.

That leaves 2 spots for the following bubble teams:

Minnesota
Illinois
Virginia Tech
Florida
Mississippi St
Seton Hall

Personally, I think Minnesota and Florida get the last two spots. Houston and New Mexico St stole Illinois () and Virginia Tech's spots, IMO.

Illinois unless Minnesota wins today should be one

I'll also say Florida for the other one

Looks like the biggest Kentucky and Ohio State fans will be Virginia Tech and Utah State

If both Minny and Mississippi State somehow win, they would be out according to Lunardi

I don't understand Va Tech. They played nobody non-conference. Their non-conference SOS is 339! Penn St did not get a bid last year because of the same reason, as well as Syracuse a few years back. In addition, they are 0-3 vs top 25 RPI, and their best wins are vs Georgia Tech, Clemson and Wake Forest. On top of it, they lost the first game of the ACC tournament to 12 seed Miami, Fl. I really don't think Va Tech is in.

Agreed, but I think they still get in based on strong computer numbers - RPI 20, SOS 14.

If you actually look at their schedule and who they beat, those numbers are a bit of a joke though. Their 2 best wins are Washington (41) and Murray St (57). Wow! So it looks like losing to Kansas, Syracuse, New Mexico and Ohio St and not playing anyone ranked in the RPI 200s is what got them their strong computer numbers. That's a joke!

Now that I look at it, if Cal gets an at-large bid, then Illinois deserves a bid based on their 5 top 35 RPI wins.

yeah they played some good teams, what does it mean if they lost them all?

Watching ESPN this morning, Jay Bilas makes sense as always - These teams are fighting for 12 and 13 seeds - who cares if they can beat bad teams, they need to be able to beat top 20 teams, cause that's who they'll be playing come tourney time. Also like teams that can win on the road, you wont be playing at home this weekend if you get in.

Cal hasn't beat a top 20 team all season, neither has miss. st. Florida has, Illinois & Minny have. William & Mary has. William & Mary have more road wins than most major conference bubble teams have played road games lol

Love Bilas - even though he is a Dukie. He might be the best analyst in college basketball. I completely agree - it should be about who you can beat. All of these bubble teams have flaws, and have shown they can lose games. IMO, the determining factor should be who have you played, and who did you beat. If the committee sticks to that, then my Illini might just sneak into the tournament. Probably a one and done, but in the tourney nonetheless.
