Post Wiz's "POD" pick

Wisconsin Badgers at Illinois Illini

IIllinois is the same team that went on the road to defeat Vanderbilt outright, defeated Purdue outright on the road in OT, who has hammered UGA by 31, Indiana by 30+, Michigan at home by 15, covered against Michigan State and currently sits at 17-3. This team is good and they are deep with the addition of Kentucky transfer Alex Legion who has done nothing more than added much needed depth, a big presence inside and another powerful scoring option down low (he was the leading scorer for Illinois in the game at Michigan State). Remember, Illinois went into the half leading by 7 in that contest at Michigan State. Wisconsin is a good team that has great coaching. But, this team has now lost 3 in a row. They are 3-3 in conference play. They just come off an outright loss to Iowa on the road and prior to that lost to Minnesota at home. For starters, Wisconsin beat Illinois both times last year sweeping them. Illinois remembers that here b/c their incoming freshman class was decimated with transfers such as Eric Gordon who committed to Illinois and then switched to Indiana at the last second. Either way, Gordon ended up for just 1 year in Indiana and then ending up with the Clippers. Oddly enough Indiana's program is in disarray while Illinois came back with a vengeance and now sits at 17-3. The Badgers are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 vs. the Big 10, Illinois has covered their last 7 games in front of their faithful Saturday crowd and are 4-0 ATS with the spread at this margin at home.

The Fighting Illini are 6-1 ATS in their last seven games vs. a team with a winning record as they host the Badgers tonight. They have covered just one of their last five when hosting Wisconsin, but this is a down year for the Badgers. The Illini are the surprising team in the Big 10, one of three with Northwestern and Minnesota, and have covered four of their last five overall. McCarney and Frazier will lead the way to another Illini win .

Wiz's "POD" call:Illinois-6

I should of left this game alone, esp with Notre Dame being at home with a 45 game home streak on the line & needing this game!!

No. 3 Connecticut Huskies (17-1) at No 19 Notre Dame Fighting Irish (12-5)

The Connecticut Huskies are a powerful team from all angles and can really wreak havoc on the inside. The Huskies have 5 starters all averaging at least 10 points per game lead by forward Jeff Adrien. Adrien nearly averages a double-double with 14.4 points and 9.6 rebounds every outing. The big man in the middle Hasheem Thabeet has averaged a double-double with 13.2 points and 10.1 boards. These two big guys could give the Huskies a big advantage if they could slow Luke Harangody and control the glass. The Huskies are shooting the nations 7th best 50% from the field while averaging an equally strong 40 rebounds per game. Connecticut will try to improve their recent stellar play by ending the longest home winning streak in the country with what would be a big win on the road.

The Irish are really rolling when Harangody is making plays on the inside and Kyle McAlarney is shooting the ball well from the perimeter. The UConn big men need to make doubling down and support defense priority number 1 inside the paint. Harangody is nearly averaging 30 points and 14 rebounds in his last 4 games. The Huskies must find away to control these two star players. Connecticut’s ability to spread the ball out and utilize all their offensive threats will be the key to their scoring success.

Wiz's "POD" call:All streaks come to an end sometime and it will here. UConn-1.5
