WOW! Butler -2.5

am i crazy or dont you think VCU is a bad matchup for Butler????? Butler had problems with that pressure at time against florida and wisconsin and VCU brings that all game.

I thought VCU may open as a favourite....

how could you think vcu would open fav? even if it should be a pk at best for vcu

public perception would flood books with butler money

Butler has all the respect in the world from me HCD. check my past posts. i said they would beat ODU, beat Florida and Wisconsin.

VCU has also gotten my respect. they beat gtown, kansas and purdue by double digits. florida state gave them the most problems and florida is really long and tough.

butler had problems with pressue and VCU pressures full court the whole game. I would think the game would open as a PK at best.

Gotta take the points here, no reason to believe Butler can blow anyone out.

Coach alone is worth 3 points for Butler

at first glance i would think VCU has value, i havent really looked at the matchups and stats here. I mean butler has had worse matchups in the tourney, I thought florida was a worse matchup, and butler somehow got through that.

Butler did beat ODU on a buzzer beater and that could be a game to look at with them being a CAA team and playing VCU 3 times.

i want butler to win the NCAA, but looking to be objective.

I think my thoughts of VCU are skewed a little because their 3 point shooting is unreal and dont believe it gives a true projection of how they should have played. New Venue now and different backdrop, so shooting might suffer for both teams.

Matt Howard and Andrew Smith will have a little more freedom here. Will Matt Howard guard Jamie Skeen??

I still havent seen a team play VCU that has focused on shutting down burgess and rozell. Kansas, Florida State and Purdue has let those 2 see too many open 3's.

I'm thinking brad stevens is smarter than that and may play the 3 point line and see if VCU can beat them down low consistently.

These are the 2 smartest teams left in terms of basketball IQ , the way Mack looked on that ankle could make verstatile vcu defense lick thier chops. Vanzant and Smith I think were having to do the ball handling when Florida pressed and VCU switches at all the right times in all thier games so far.

I think Butlers whole game is fundamentally taking you down with mental mistakes I think that might be an equalizer to the VCU edges because Kansas, Florida St., and Purdue and Georgetown all seemed to be teams that figured theyd win because of size difference. Butler is the polar opposite of that and VCU will probably be the one making the most adjustments.

Both teams are capeable of hitting 3's , I think this game should be very close and the -2.5 is because of Butlers experience. On the floor these teams are pretty even.
