Arrow 5 reasons why Steelers are different than Pats & should be different results

1. Run game - Steelers can & will run the ball. Patriots have no legit rushing threat.

2. Run defense - Steelers have best rushing defense in AFC & maybe football. Patriots run defense a little above average.

3. Hines Ward - he's the most dependable wide receiver in the game. It was obvious the Patriots troubles at WR were exposed this weekend.

4. Mark Sanchez - When the Jets can run the ball they can beat anyone. When they can't & against a really good defense he's a different QB when they become dimensional.

5. Rex Ryan - it's obvious he got inside the Parriots head & that won't happen with Pittsburgh. It's just not as personal. He called yesterday's game 2nd most important win in franchise history. Obviously they want to go to the Super Bowl but it's also my belief that beating the Patriots in that spot was his personal Super Bowl

Debate!

I also think that's a factor. Jets had the "revenge" mindset from their embarrassing loss to the Pats. They lose that edge as well.

Sanchez on Sunday was put in a position to not have to win the game. I think he is capable but not near the capabilities of Rothlesburger in a tight situation

I picked the Steelers to win it all before the playoffs started, and I have seen nothing that would make me change my mind. I will play the Jets on the moneyline to hedge my (previously posted) Steelers to win the AFC play.

Seth: Fogell, this ID says that you're 25 years old. Why wouldn't you just put 21, man?
Fogell: Seth, Seth, Seth. Listen up, ass-face: every day, hundreds of kids go into the liquor store with fake IDs, and every single one says they're 21. Pssh, how many 21 year olds do you think there are in this town? It's called f*cking strategy, alright?

Good write up Dr. Jack but

6. the emergence of their young WR's this year, Sanders and Brown. Along with the deep threat in Mike Wallace.

NE did not have a deep threat since Moss left the team and it caught up to them yesterday.

Sweetleaf I whole heartily agree, so glad that the Jets beat the Steelers already this year. Update the stat to 1-8 all time at Pittsburgh.

HERE WE GO

Pats had a better rushing average this year than the Steelers and ran the ball 1 attempt less/game this year than the Steelers.

Granted Steelers much better at stopping the run but IMO the run wasn't the reason why the Jets won yesterday with the exception of that last run by Greene

3. Hines Ward - he's the most dependable wide receiver in the game. It was obvious the Patriots troubles at WR were exposed this weekend.

Hines Ward is the same as Wes Welker IMO both are not going to normally beat you deep but more underneath type of stuff

4. Mark Sanchez - When the Jets can run the ball they can beat anyone. When they can't & against a really good defense he's a different QB when they become dimensional.

XFactor in my opinion for this game. Last game in Pittsburgh it wasn't the running game that won them that game it was Sanchez and if he plays like that or yesterday or even last week in Indy then I wouldn't be surprised to see the Jets win this game

5. Rex Ryan - it's obvious he got inside the Parriots head & that won't happen with Pittsburgh. It's just not as personal. He called yesterday's game 2nd most important win in franchise history. Disagree with you here

Debate!
Should be a very interesting game, right now I am leaning towards the Steelers but thankfully still have a few days to finally decide what I want to do with this game. Actually am liking the over more than anything right now.

by no means do i look at the jets as an easy game, but it does seem to match up well for the steelers

run dependent teams just don't fair that well, the odds of the jets getting 25-30 carries out of their run game isn't very good

low scoring game IMO or it might be an over but will be defensive setting short fields/turnovers, defensive TDs

...all decent points...but Steelers Oline was never that good and now is hurt

intangibles from Big Ben, Home field, deep threat at wr and pass rush - thats steelers biggest advantages in this game imo

I was actually thinking about this on the way to work and i believe pittsburgh is in trouble offensively.

ward will be shadowed by revis, taking him out of the game and the jets have cromartie to shutdown the speedster in wallace. wallace isnt polished enough to be running the route tree on cromartie, he is still too dependable on his deep moves and cromartie has the speed to stay with him. it leaves the rest of the secondary against antonio brown and heath miller. i do believe the jets can cover them up.

run game and O-line play. i believe the pats had the better O-line than the steelers but mendenhall is the better runner.

i think the jets will play off a different card this week. It will be "this is where we wanted to get to, lets take the next step now". rex will play, do u remember last year when we were one game away, now is our chance to avenge last years loss in the championship(diff team, but same situation)
