Wiz Khalifa, Martina McBride, Hank Williams Jr. join festivities for Steelers' playoff game


Pittsburgh rap sensation Wiz Khalifa will perform his Top 5 hit song "Black and Yellow" on the field prior to the AFC Championship Game at Heinz Field Sunday. The kickoff is at 6:30 p.m.

Country star Martina McBride will sing the National Anthem, and at halftime, country legend Hank Williams Jr. will perform on the South Plaza.

Also, 15 minutes before kickoff, the team will take a special panoramic photograph inside the stadium. Once the photo is posted online, fans will be able to zoom in and find themselves in the photo. Fans on Facebook will be able to link the photo to their profile and share with all of their Facebook friends. A digital copy of the photo will be available at Facebook.com/steelers" target="_blank">The Pittsburgh Steelers | Facebook on Monday, Jan. 24.

Local servicemen and women will be honored on the field in a special welcome home ceremony for their service in each branch of the military. A total of 50 local servicemen and women will be recognized.

Billy Gardell, Pittsburgh native and star of the CBS Series "Mike and Molly," will lead a Terrible Towel Twirl along with Khalifa prior to kickoff. Zambelli International will then have a fireworks display from Point State Park.

Rocky Bleier and Franco Harris will accompany the Steelers' team captains for the coin toss and serve as honorary co-captains for the game.

Peyton Hillis’ scouting report on Pittsburgh:

“Defensively I think You have to run right at ‘em. No outside zone, no stretch and cut runs. I don’t think those are good against ‘em.

“Troy Polamalu knows how to read offenses like quarterbacks read defenses. He’s all over the field. You don’t know where he’s going to be. It’s pretty difficult to approach.

“James Harrison is deceptively fast. Our game plan against them was pretty much downhill runs where you avoid him most of the time.”

And the Jets?

“It looks like they’re on pace again,” he said. “I think they’re really well coached. They seem to be always at the right place at the right time. I don’t know if they can match up with the Steelers talent for talent. It’s going to be one heck of a game.”
