Question AFC longshots

both #1 and 2 both have major flaws , Patriots defense and the Ravens QB play

steelers lose mendenhall and rothlesburger playing on bum ankle

Is there any way the Broncos, Texans or Bengals represent the AFC in the Superbowl?

Yates has to make some throws from the pocket at somepoint, if Johnson can do 80% he can be a monster around the goal line mixed with that great running game yea i guess i could see it.

I want to say Denver can, but really, let's worry about winning against the Steelers first lol

I think Houston could. Teams have won the Superbowl with worse QBs than Yates (see Ravens).

no way any of those afc teams go to bowl 3 of them are going with rookie QB's that never happens in NFL superbowl history no rookie QB ever led his team to a Bowl !

steelers cant do it they gotthe scheduled quirk playing away week 17 and got the WC berth ! so thats 4 weeks straight on the road for steelers NO bye week

Texans HC is the bigggest moron in NFL thinking that rookie QB who showed already past 3 weeks how he is in playoff type games fold like a wet noodle !

they are the best team IN NFL as in outagaining all foes by 110 plus yards per game with 24 plus TO's but Yates inexperience will cost them in playoffs !

they catch a break with Cincy 1st game because they also have rookie QB only hope is that Yates gets hurt again in that game and delhomme comes in and wipes the floor with bengals and Delhomme has been in playoffs and at the superbowl with Panthers when vs Patriots close game they covered as 7 point pup lost by FG at end by of course Vinateri

two superbowl wins of Patriots was on final FG by Vinateri vs eagles they had them beat by 10 and eagles scroed a late TD to lose by 3 points !

In simple terms. NO WAY. First off I wouldnt call the Ravens QB play a major flaw, maybe minor at worse. Flacco may not be the best around, but in 4 years he has gotten them to the playoffs all 4 years and had a 4-3 record in the playoffs. You don't do that 4 years in a row with a major flaw at QB.

I certainly would not put 2 rookie QBs and another who is masquarading as a QB who all have zero playoff experience over Flacco and a very solid Ravens team.

In a word, No. The Bronco's have no offense. The Texans have no QB. Teh Bengals backed in. They do not have enough experience. I like the Ravens because the Patsie's have such a pourous defense. I would love to see Tebow get there, just for the hype and the stories that would come out of the game. That plus the fact that one of my best friends is a guy who owns part of the Packers, and the other is a lady who is a "born again". If it ended up Green Bay vs Denver, the two week Battle Royal between those two would be worth more than a ticket to the game.

out of them houston has the best chance.
Will they? Probably not but I wouldn't read into the last game much at all. It meant nothing to them at all. Foster didn't play, AJ only a little, delhomme came in at the end, some other people were not playing and instead of a tying extra point they went for 2.

They get AJ back at or near full, foster playing after his rest, wade phillips back calling the defense which started the losing streak. They will be much much stronger than people think and it's actually a gift that they fell in the final 3 weeks cause the nice spread of 3 this week would have been closer to 4.5 or 5.

houston and baltimore though would be a very very interesting game. Can't say that's a gimmie for either team given the defenses.

Simple answer no.

Cincinnati loses this week

Houston if Schaub was in there then yes have a chance but having a rookie in there and will be heading to Baltimore next week then they are done even with the problems that the Ravens have at times, at home those deficiencies are hidden alot more.

Denver/Pittsburgh, I am actually liking the Broncos more and more to not only cover this week but win the game outright, however even if they do somehow pull this out they are not going into NEngland or Baltimore and winning. Pittsburgh even if they pull out the win this week with the injuries to Ben and Mendenhall, and how poorly they have played on the road this year they are not going into Baltimore or NewEngland and winning.

This comes down to NewEngland or Baltimore to represent the AFC.

I don't disagree that his play this year has been nothing to write home about. But I would still easily take him over the other 3, if not for anything else but his playoff experience. And the rest of the team is solid, so no way any of these 3 get past Baltimore in my opinion. Id give a banged up Steelers team a better shot.
