anyone betting the eagles game

tread lightly as the weather up here is supposed to be shitty today and Temple is playing UCONN on the Linc field so there is a good chance the field could be crap tomorrow. BOL

The game had better not be close. We are talking the Rams here, a team picked to finish last in the weakest NFC division. A team that is 1-8 ATS in their last 9 games against Philly, and 0-5 in their last 5 efforts in Philly. I look for a very comfortable Eagles win here.

There wasn't a team in the NFL that had the injury issues to key players like the Rams did a year ago.

They finished with a dreadful 3-13 mark - their worst finish since 1991. But certainly they are a better team than that.

This team ran an offense behind a make-shift line each week, and the injury-depleted line stopped the Rams cold.
Look for a healthy Marc Bulger to approach 2006 numbers.
Many people have forgotten just how good he was back then (over 4,000 yards and 24 TDs with just eight interceptions).

Even with a troubled offensive line, and four games missed due to injury, Stephen Jackson still rushed for over 1,000 yards last season.
With a healthy line and healthy Jackson, look for the Rams to improve dramatically, and come out in game one with something to prove.

Philadelphia played in some close games last season as five of their eight losses were by 4 points or less.

The biggest problem was trying to turnover the opponent, as the Eagles managed just 19 takeaways all season. (Finishing last)

The Eagles biggest void, as has been the case for much of the Donovan McNabb era, will be at wide receiver as Kevin Curtis is out with a sports hernia.

That leaves Reggie Brown, another oft-injured receiver, to carry the load. (Listed questionable wsith hamstring)...
The other problem area for the Eagles is at linebacker, where they will field the youngest group in the league. This group may need time to get things in sync.

Overall, this is a Rams team that is being treated by the odds-makers as not much different than their injury plagued '07 season, when the reality is they are more like the '06 team

The Eagles slipped from 6th to 24th in red zone production,
despite finishing
6th in total offense ...

The Rams last visited philly in 2001 season opener and won 20-17

Neither team is the same as last year ,
And asking to bet 7.5 in week 1 based on last years Rams injured team , but improved ,
and this years injured Eagles team seems fishy...

Rams RB Jackson has a new deal ,
and McNabb will likely have to rely on Westbrook both on passing and running

I expect a lot of running this game as the Rams won't throw to CB's Samuel ,Sheppard , Brown, hanson a lot

The Eagles will win this game but with their limited scoring options, it’s tough to take them at this line. The Rams are classic no team is as bad as they look
this season and Stephen Jackson just got back with the team. If you insist on laying money on Philly, buy it down to at least -6.5.
or take the money line
here's why :

What chance do you give the Rams to win ?
If Eagles win rate is 80% your cover % is 54.6% with expected bet value -110 of 4%
If Eagles win % if 70% , your cover % is 42.66% with expected value of minus 18%
Classic no play IMO , Better value in other games ...

I was debating between this game and the Jax Tenn game as my only game to bet on Sunday. I went with the Jags.

I dont think this game is close if you ask me, Philly rolls...
