Is the Arizona Cardinal's time in the spotlight expired??

I just don't see Arizona being any good this year regardless of any moves they make before the year starts. The only thing they have going for them is the division they play in, however those teams are starting to make moves. Take a look at this list of big time players with more to come possibly:

Dansby: lost to FA (Miami)
Warner: retired
Rolle: lost to FA (Giants)
Boldin: traded to Ravens
Leinart: taking over as new QB (yet to prove anything)

And they have 20+ players in the mix as either restricted or unrestricted free agents.....

The two bolded are the only ones that matter and because of this the Cards will once again be a below average team. Boldin being traded although its not an upgrade the Cards in particular Warner has shown when Boldin was out they can still live and win without him with the guys they have to replace him. However, Leinart has shown nothing to support that the Cards can live and win with him at QB.

49ers had this division on lock down when Warner retired. Not that it mattered, SF beat Arizona both times last year anyhow. But now Arizona will have a tough time beating the Sef@gs.

Now with 2 first round picks and another year under Sing, it's gonna fun to watch. Could you imagine if we had a QB? At least this is Smith's first season with the same O coordinator so you have to expect some improvement since the kid doesn't have to learn a whole new offense.

Bout time games started meaning something in December again...it's been way to fuching long.

Strongly disagree with most of you. Only real question is Matty L, and it is a big question. However, this team is stacked with young talent, has two plyaers that are the best at their position (Wilson and Fitz) and has a great coaching staff. Now they have 6 of the first 120 picks, nice for a team that has done really well in the draft lately (read" Wells, Rogers-Cromartie, Breaston, Latui).

Additionally, they are in a weak division.

Weak division ? Understatement of the year. They do have a lot of picks but they will have to develop the talent and that will take time.

Not necessarily if we look at the past. Latui, Brown, Rogers Cromartie and Wells all got significant time and/or started their first year with the team the last two-three years and contributed heavily to the success of the team during that time.

What?

No.... The players they lost are big but they still have Wisenhunt and that offensive line has made huge leaps and bounds in improvement.

Also the recent trade for Rhodes is big on D. They are fine. Well coached and should continue to thrive.

Youre right j-blaze. i want to post rhetoric in response to this, but then i will realize that I am wasting my time. everyone here just wants to play the other side of the fence. That way, if they so happen to be correct, they can bump the thread. When in reality, this usually only happens 2% of time. But hey, they only remember the winning low percentage obscure predictions as a coping mechanism for losing money to their bookie.

While any team would love that many picks in the up and coming draft it still takes time for them to pick up the system. Great starting point to build up the team but to say they will be in the spot light next season is a reach at this point. The draft will speak volumes but these players will still need at least a year or two to really push for a title run. I agree that with what was said above about Boldin, he can't make it thru a whole season and if he couldnt make it thru in AZ no chance he makes it thru in the AFC North. Have to agree about the coaching all though it pains me. Both Pissenhunt and Grimmer did a bang up job while in Pitt. Didn't like their comments when they left Pittsburgh but that does not stop me from saying that they are both excellent coaches.

It all falls into the hands of Leinhart. Nobody will have the spotlight shine bigger on them this year.
