The Bear/Detroit rule, revisited

For those that don't know, and don't care, don't read.

For those that have their panties in a bunch because the Bears won, or you lost money, read and weep some more.

The rule is NOT a new rule, it is 7 (SEVEN) years old. One of the first victims of not getting a TD was B Berrian when he was with the Bears, AT DETROIT, on a pass from Chad Hutchinson, I believe it was in 2004, in the last 1 1/2' of the game. (made up call yesterday?)

It came about because of a situation in the SB with the Rams and NE. There have been 6 or 7 reverse calls since the rule was instituted. The rules committe have looked at changing the rule, as recently as this past off season, but so far, no change.

It does prevent some hot dogging, which may piss some off.

So for those that think the NFL is fakin up their game and will not renew their NFL TV tix, maybe you can write Direct TV and ask for a refund for the last 7 Years

I had no interest on the game. It was the worst call I have ever seen. But if I were a Bear fan it would have been a great call. so go figure

Him using the ball as leverage to get up should have been seen as a second motion therefore not a part of him actually catching and holding onto the ball. Therefore the rule does not even apply
