Post Bears flight to Baltimore canceled

The Chicago Bears had hoped to get to Baltimore before the snowstorm arrived Friday but the team did not make it before its flight was canceled, according to the team's Web site. The team is scheduled to play the Ravens Sunday at M&T Bank Stadium.

According to The Chicago Tribune, the Bears scheduled a meeting this morning to determine when the team will be able to travel to Baltimore. A club official said it is possible the team will not depart until Sunday morning.

It's not clear if that would affect the status of the 4:15 p.m. game Sunday. It is unknown if the game could be pushed to Monday where it would go up against the already scheduled "Monday Night Football" game at nearby FedEx Field between the New York Giants and Washington Redskins.

"We are monitoring the situation," a league spokesperson told the Tribune.

The team's Web site says the team boarded its charter flight at O'Hare Airport late Friday but sat on the plane for two hours before it was canceled.

The Ravens moved the originally scheduled 1 p.m. game to 4:15 p.m. Sunday in hopes of having more time to remove snow from the stadium and its parking lots. About 700 workers are staying at the stadium this weekend to remove the snow.

Kinda was a bisket post to say ML, but I'm in already at +11 with em. I think the travel stuff is being overhyped, cutler is still a pimp and bears rally it together and win this week after Lovie's job looks secure in a city that wants to see him go.

Not really a statistical play, more of a fade the hype of media//look at situation play. Plus, bears have not covered in forever.

Probably not that analysis you were lookin for, but I really think Bears grind with ravens and make it interesting..

you have to believe if the weather is still bad when this game is played that it helps the bears more than the ravens

Game will be played tomorrow:

Baltimore Airport Hopes To Reopen To Accommodate Team's Flight
CHICAGO (CBS)

The Chicago Bears will try again to fly to Baltimore Saturday night, after a flight one day before was canceled due to a snow storm on the East Coast. The Maryland airport, however, was closed Saturday afternoon.

A team spokesman said the team plans to fly to Baltimore at 8 p.m. Chicago time, arriving two hours later, or 11 p.m. Baltimore time.

But there was a hitch: Baltimore/Washington International Airport was closed in the afternoon, spokesman Jonathan Dean said. Officials hoped to have at least one runway opened later in the evening, he said.

It began snowing late Friday night in Baltimore and forecasts were calling for 12 to 22 inches by Sunday, according to the National Weather Service. The Baltimore area is under a blizzard warning now, and Maryland Gov. Martin O'Malley has declared a state of emergency.

Because of the anticipated snowstorm, Baltimore city officials on Friday decided to push back the start of Sunday's Bears-Ravens game from noon CST until 3:15 p.m., with the blessing of the NFL.

The Bears originally had planned to leave Chicago Friday night – a day earlier than normal for road trips – to try and beat the storm to Baltimore. They boarded their United charter flight at O'Hare International Airport around 10:30 p.m. Friday, but were forced to wait for about two hours before the flight was cancelled.

A Bears spokesman said Saturday morning that the team was going through its "normal Saturday routine" at Halas Hall as they waited for a travel window to leave for Maryland.

Because of the weather, the team could be waiting all day and it's possible they won't leave until late Saturday night.
