Big Ben on the trading blocks ?

Could it be that the Steelers move Ben before the draft. Class organization showing that no one is above the game. This could get interesting because if the Steelers can get a shot at Bradford this could be a done deal by morning.

are you serious? youre like a girl following epsn's sensationalism

he will be traded AFTER another episode most likely, at a detriment to the team

Bradford is nice, but get a grip

public sentiment is for Big Ben to go, that being said I can't see that trade occurring. As much as the Rooneys try to run a squeaky clean organization, trade the franchise away will be a last resort. After week three or five depending how long they suspend him the public will slowly start cheering for "their" QB. Is it right? Doesn't matter it is a business and the business is winning ball games.

As for the Rooney press conference, the Steelers announced that they will be handing out the discipline in this case (it could be a max of four games under the CBA), and Rooney also added that the Steelers have not talked to other teams about a trade for the troubled QB. It was nice lip service, but the organization's words and actions have become very confusing in disciplinary matters, to say the least. Correct me if I'm wrong, but did they not just reward Jeff Reed's bad decisions with a new contract recently? They're walking a fine line between wanting to win and wanting to sell their brand.

So they are going to suspend him, then cut or trade him steel>>>>

it's pretty entertaining being here in pittsburgh as every news story revolves around ben

a few thoughts:
he won't get a trial so we won't know what happened, but it looks pretty bad and as I said before "he did that shit"

other athletes have been suspended for the conduct policy, he should be too

i'm in disbelief by the borderline public outcry to cut or trade him lol if he's found guilty or we find out what really happened and he really is the piece of shit that he appears to be right now, then by all means he's got to go, but for now, get off the guy's balls

also, as much as i hate pittsburgh and most of the fans, i do believe the rooneys are a class act......with that being said, the guy is worth about 100 million bucks, and football is a business, so while the rooneys are decent people, they're not going to sacrifice the business for some allegations....and there's no way you just replace ben in a season and there are no guarantees that any qb you draft will pan out

also, i'm not going to get into a debate over which qbs are the best in the league and shit, but you can't argue that tom brady gets better broads than ben does

then again they might cut or trade him tomorrow, wtf do i know

Yesterday, Rooney stood in front of the team logo.

"I have made it clear to Ben that his conduct in this incident did not live up to our standards," Rooney said. "After imposing an appropriate level of discipline and outlining the steps we feel will be necessary to be successful as a player and a person, we intend to allow Ben the opportunity to prove to us he is the teammate and citizen we all believe he is capable of being."

Rooney did not indicate whether the punishment will be a suspension or a fine. What's significant is that, for the first time, someone in the Steelers' hierarchy yanked Roethlisberger off his high horse.

It's a whole new world for Roethlisberger, who had to convince his bosses to let him participate in voluntary practices.

"We allowed Ben to do this after we were convinced he was sincerely contrite for his behavior," Rooney said.

The quarterback who won two Super Bowls before the age of 27 and is among the highest-paid players in sports had to sell himself to his employer. Imagine that.

That may have hurt Roethlisberger — who's accustomed to getting what he wants — more than the allegation of sexual assault.

Maybe that's part of the punishment, to make Roethlisberger beg for his job.

"It's a situation where we're giving Ben an opportunity to regain respect. We felt like we wanted to make sure we had Ben's commitment," said Rooney, who emphasized the Steelers haven't engaged in trade talks regarding Roethlisberger

What is wrong with reading the NFL page late at night and posting on this board ? Or is that it came from me so it holds no weight ? Reporters were talking to each other about this issue I just carried it to this board. Isn't this an NFL forum ? Come on guys as a Steeler fan I would hate to see Ben go because it would bring down the team. But I have been a Steelers fan for over 35 years and I know how the Rooneys run things. The only difference between this Rooney team and teams from the past is that this team is not only owned by the Rooneys anymore. I dislike criminals and no one is going to sell to me that Ben is innocent on both charges. The first one I could buy but 2 charges in less then one year. It will be interesting to see what happens and while the Rooneys are reporting they are not talking to anyone at this time they surely aren't going to lay all their cards on the table and let all of us know what is going on behing closed doors. Again all I did was report what I read on the net. Best of luck

i mean believing a guy that has not once, but twice been accused of rape, you should believe him everytime, the same moron that rides his motorcycle without a helmet.

i mean the fact that about 1000 witness have a story about big ben going to the back of a club and raping a girl shouldnt matter, they actually were in cahoots to screw big bens career because they knew he would end up in a college bar in georgia.

keep on sucking the dicks of players that will never be your friends.

i like how people stick up for the guy when his own organization and teammates havent stuck up for him.

do u not think it would be in your head, if there is a good chance your teammate and leader rapes girls. alot of these players have daughters and wives and imagine if your teammate is a guy like that.

even if there is no proof of rape. who takes a girl to the bathroom and blocks it off by a bodyguard. people just dont make up stories like that on the go. you think girls have meetings when they hit the club in the bathroom saying hey shirley, go get big ben to try to rape you and we will be RICH!

hookers make alot of money, there are easier ways to get rich by using your sex appeal.
