Biggest NFL Draft Winners

1. Atlanta Falcons- This team is just doing WORK the last 2 years! I consider Gonzalez a draft pick, I mean really a 2nd rounder?!?! Steal of the draft is Tony Gonzalez!

1a. Green Bay Packers and Aaron Rodgers- Soldified there front 7 by adding Raji and Matthews. Only thing that was holding this team back was their weak d which improved by raji falling to them at 9 and them moving to 26 to grab Matthews.

2. Cincinati- They did an awesome job and if Smith can grow up this would be a steal at 6 considering if he wasnt a child he would have gone 1 or 2. Also stole Maulauga who even though he fell I think he is going to be a great NFL player, I dont know how or exactly why he fell to the 2nd round but if you can get a player like this who was supposed to go middle 1st you have to consider it a great pick at that spot. Also grabbing Michael Johnson who people were down on but could help being a speed rusher. And they gave Palmer another weapon in Coffman. AND most importantly didnt draft players with too much baggage!

3. Houston- Play and simple they are building an amazing front 7. Ryans, Williams, Cushing, Barwin, Okoye, Adibi. Games are won in the trenches and they are doing a great job building that front 7, most importantly they are young. Going to be solid for years, we know they can score now they need to stop some people and these guys will by getting to the qb. done an awesome job the last couple of years drafting.

4. San Fran- Someone in this organization needs to send Oakland a christmas card this year because as of right now it looks like they got the steal of the draft in Crabtree. Maybe it doesnt pan out, but either way, too much talent coming out from Texas Tech to not be extatic to get him at 10. Also like Coffee as a player I think that was a great pick as well, he will be a good complement to Gore.

5. Every player in the top 10, whole 1st round for that matter- Of these players maybe 1 or 2 may actually be worth the money they are going to get paid. As my man Randy Moss once said, " Straight cash homey"

Honorable mention- could be included in biggest winners but I mean not every team could be big winners, I would love to include every team except for the raiders:

Pats- They always do a great job. I'm not going to argue with results. They went for youth on defense which they need badly. They adding 2nd round picks for next year which is important. And although its not a draft pick, I believe Jason Taylor will be a Patriot, once of the reasons they didnt grab an outside rusher. Just agree until it stops panning out.

Seattle- Top 5 linebacking crew now with Tatupu and Curry.

Donovan Mcnabb- Finally got some weapons to work with now, although they still need that #1 guy. they now have 3 #2 recievers in Jackson, Maclin and Curtis. Still overall, a great job. Think mccoy will end up being a steal!

Feel free to add opinions. I prob missed some but lets be serious, everyone is a draft day winner when they get to see the Raiders just f it up like they did!

dead on with the esgles wasnt sure y they took macklin and didnt trade for boldin but this will put curtis back to the slot where he belongs and mclain is a great fit as he can catch the ball out of the backfield and can definitely run it. Ellis HOBBS pickup may signify the end of Sheldon and trading the first round pack for Peters got them there left tackle for 8 yearrs. I give em an A. Supposedly still looking to trade to denver to get Tont Scheffler but we will se

Atlanta, Philly, and New England did the best jobs. Cincy did O.K. but Maulauga is not a 3rd down player. That is why he dropped so low. He also has other issues, which fit into the Cincy organization.

I can see why you would say that but imo I just think they should be counting their blessings that Curry fell to 4. He is the safest pick and imo will be defensive rookie of the year. With that said they are a big winner. And in addition they got Unger who can play every Oline position so he will be a day 1 contributor. 2 day 1 starters when only having 2 picks in the top 2 rounds is pretty good in my book. And I like that they got the speedy receiver Deon Butler, hes a project but he can contribute this year when someone goes down, because you know they will. 3 starts in 3 rounds has to be a huge plus for the Seahawks.

Bills- I dont like Maybin not a good fit for what they do on D, and didnt fill the Peters hole as of right now no legit LT, thats a problem.

Bears- Basically just out by default, they didnt have the proper picks to work with, but they did a nice job with what they had. Gave up too much for Cutler killed their draft.

Atlanta- In response to Rjb, I believe if you can get a hall of famer and arguably the best tight end for a 2nd rounder NEXT YEAR, thats the biggest win of the draft. Esp now that they have a serviceable o-line, franchise qb, #1 receiver and a 1-2 punch in the backfield and now you add the best tight end ever without losing anything this year, come on man, huge win for Atlanta not even considering how much they helped that D with the draft.

Minnesota- Had no choice when Harvin fell into their lap, could be the steal of the draft, but now he has to prove it. Players like him havent exactly excelled in the past, contributed and played well but not superstars. And with he baggage, now with money in his pocket, who knows what could happen, guy could be boom or bust of the draft.

I am very happy with Green Bay this year. Raji and Matthews were both the best player on the board and filled a need. The Pats really got a king's ransom in exchange for the their first round pick, but I'm glad GB did it. You are already the youngest team in the league, so why not get a stud instead of two role players.

I know they won't get mentioned, but I'm happy with what Denver did with their picks. A top-notch RB and a solid DE to start definitely has the team focusing on the right needs. Now we'll just have to see if Simms can push Orton for the starting job.

Still going to be a very long season.
