Bills QB - Ryan Fitzpatrick

Reports: Fitzpatrick, Bills Agree on 6-Year, $59 Mill Extension http://bit.ly/v52NQv

Way too much but he deserved something IMO

Too much?

That's right in line with Kevin Kolb and Matt Cassell.

He's outperformed them this year by a large measure. Not saying he'll keep that up, just stating the facts. It only sounds like too much because it's Ryan Fitzpatrick, an underspoken guy who gets VERY little attention (and when he does, it's about Harvard or his beard).

I should clarify. 6 years is too much. If they have a plan for a QB after 3 yrs, then this is good. Not questioning the money (per year)

Bills had no choice, they weren't going to find a good QB after the season. This is really a 3 year $24 million contract, he won't be around for the whole 6 years/$59 million!

Bills woulda been able to sign him for less if they did so in the offseason. He's worth the money I think. Last 16 games with Gailey as a coach Fitz has 3800yds passing 32 TDs and 18 INTs. Thats as good as Jim Kelly had in his best year.

Too risky, no deal at end of season, he walks! Remember, Sanchize is getting paid $14 million a season!!!

I meant during the off-season that just passed they should have got a deal done. His stock went up after these first 6 games.

Didn't he go to Harvard or something? I don't know why that's relevant but I just think it's kinda cool.

I was in the car for only about a half hour this afternoon, and all 3 callers Schopp and Bulldog took were all talking about who would be QB after him, the one guy even suggested they draft one this year to groom lol. But didn't really catch what hosts thoughts were on it

Good for him.....Kolb pretty much robbed the Cardinals with his deal. Guy never proved he was worth that kind of money.

I can see Fitz working all 6 years of the deal...he is well liked in buffalo he is part of a team that is building around him and jackson, a few more defensive draft picks and they could be a wild card contender most years. For the money they spent the Bills got a good deal and Fitz should be happy that he got the opportunity so both sides win
