Talking Bolts/Steelers

With Troy Polamalu still out, the Steelers are ailing on defense, and that's never a good thing when facing the Chargers. San Diego isn't blowing games like it did early last season, which leads one to believe there's a bit more urgency this season. Their players aren't getting any younger, so the desire to make the playoffs and get to the promised land is stronger than it has been in years. Like any good NFL team, when they sense weakness, they will attack it, and that's certainly the case this week in Pittsburgh, where the Chargers have never won, which is probably why the line is so alarmingly in the Steelers' favor.
Even though Pittsburgh will be without one of their main playmakers on defense, they still have the core to keep San Diego somewhat in check. They're allowing only 16.7 ppg, even though the last two have resulted in losses. The Steelers should get more offense against the Chargers' defense, which has shown some serious lapses even though they've won 2 of 3.

The line, however, is still the issue. Normally, this would be set at 3 or 4 point favoritism for the Steelers, but at almost a touchdown, one has to believe the Chargers can keep this close, if not win outright. LT is out and Shawne Merriman is listed as questionable so the injuries may even out.

Pittsburgh hasn't looked like the championship team that took the field in 2008, so I'll gladly take the points and hope the Bolts stick it to them.

San Diego+6
