I don't believe Favre will make the difference, however, the Vikings should challenge in the division regardless (with Favre or Jackson).

I must admit I cannot stand Favre (his last couple of years have ruined any positive vibe I ever had for him before), and because everything he does is so overblown by the media and those who fawn over him (blown being the operative word?).

But as to why he won't make the difference: wasn't he pretty terrible the last couple of years?

Doddi, not sure he was terrible. Had POS NFC Championship game 2 yrs ago and last 5 games were a joke last year. I believe he will make the Vikings better as Jackson is a train wreck who is inconsistent and Sage is Sage.

What annoys me about the Favre situation is they have to get every players opinion on him. Does anyone really care what Elway and Montana think of his waffling? When he does retire in 5 yrs and is first ballot HOF they will roll the red carpet out and that crap won't come up. So it is pointless fodder.

If Farve plays he will have a season ending injury that will cost him his career. It's over for that Hasbeen. He was great in his time. But he needs to retire and let some else take over. It's not worth killing yourself to make a point not to mention those defensive linemen are going for the shoulder,They will try to hurt him.
