Broncos naming Tebow starter

The Broncos' quarterback drama will soon be over, at least the drama in its current form.

Coach John Fox will meet with his team, and individual players, this morning, after which he is expected to name Tim Tebow the team's starting quarterback for the Oct. 23 game at Miami. Players were off Monday due to the bye week but will practice today and Wednesday before being dismissed for four consecutive days off.

"When you make decisions in your heart and your mind, it's what's best for the football team," Fox said Monday. "So, whatever direction we go, that will be the No. 1 thing in mind."

It is nearly difficult to envision a scenario in which the Broncos go back to Kyle Orton, who was 6-for-13 for 34 yards with one

Poor Orton. Not only does he have the defense breathing down his neck but a single missed pass and the crowd piles on. No win situation from the start after putting up great numbers last year.
Hope tebow goes 0-11 (probably will be like 4-7).

is kyle orton your boyfriend???

you really expect the crowd to be supportive of a guy who was 6-13 for 34 yards with an INT, has a horrible record as a starter and gives you basically no chance in hell of ever making the playoffs? lol its not like they are trying to be mean it's just that he sucks and unlike the coaching staff they are actually smart enough to see it.

i hope tebow tears it up but with such an obviously clueless coaching staff the deck is stacked against him.

they should use a 2 QB set. Have Orton get down the feild and Tebow inthe red-zone.

not buying the excuse, but a weak offensive line is all the more reason to play an athletic qb like tebow over orton who has zero athletic ability and is dead as soon as any pressure reaches him. tebow has roethlisberger's ability to fight off sacks and get outside the pocket to make plays. just another sign of how clueless the coaching staff / front office is to not realize this.

Disagree with the comparison to Big Ben.....Tebow has 1/2 the throwing ability that Roth has when out of the pocket. Tebow throws a spiral 1 out of ever 5 throws. Not making any excuses for Denver, could care less....what I am saying is that nobody stands a chance back there, so Orton's performance cannot be accurately judged. Denver has far greater issues than QB. Tebow isn't the answer and we'll all be seeing that soon.

Agree with everything you said but Tebow is a winner. He finds ways to win and has as much leadership ability as any QB in the league. I'm not saying Tebow will make all the difference as the Broncos have many problems to fix. I think he will find ways to win games they otherwise would not have and I don't think he will lose games they would have otherwise won.

If nothing else he will be exciting to watch and it will be interesting to see the results.

excellent point right here that really says it all. everything to gain and nothing to lose by playing tebow, and that was the case before the season started.

bottom line is it will not be fair to judge tebow until he has a chance to start a season from scratch, every time he has gotten to play so far he has started behind the 8 ball. he takes over with the team 3-10 last year, and this year he doesnt get a chance until his team is down 23-10 to a better team. tebow is the one who deserves sympathy not that scrub orton because he has always been thrown into hopeless situations.
