Broncos vs. Bengals Discussion
I think we have 2 very interesting dynamics going on with this game. On one side you have the Bengals, who before week 1 could have been regarded as one of the 3 worst teams if not the worst in the league. They come out in week 1 and beat a Browns team on the road with a very solid performance. The question is can a team regarded as this bad go on the road two weeks in a row and play to that level again? Can Bruce Gradkowski manage his team to victory in the elevation at Mile High?
The other side of this game is the Broncos and their dysfunctional qb situation. The fans in Denver are not happy with Kyle Orton and he has faced quite a bit of adversity in the News this week. Fans are calling for Tebow (I think that would be an absolute disaster) and are proving to show little patience for Orton and every little mistake he makes. The Broncos defense is still a work in progress and they are very soft in the middle. The Bengals, who can run the ball, should have success against them. Also with the Bronco's new coaching staff, maybe the short preseason was not enough to get both the offense and defense up to par. All of this leads me to want to play Cincy at +4, but I am gun shy playing a team like the Bengals to perform well two weeks in a row on the road. What do you guys think? |

I think until Orton is gone, I'm betting against Denver each week. Whether it's Tebow, Quinn or Weber, I want Orton out. This is a guy who does well only when the game is out of reach. Then you'll see the 300 yard games that look more impressive than they really are.

With situations like this, I like to 6/7pt tease with an obvious game. Like Green Bay this week maybe? Bring that -10pts down to -3/-4pts.

I lean Denver in this one. I think Orton and Broncos probably bounce back and can't see Bengals going 2-0 or covering. Still looking though

Andy Dalton should be good to go, so Gradkowski will sit on the bench like he should.
I think the Bengals can win SU. BUT, they stink out west. That is why I will go against my heart and take Denver minus the points. This Bengals team is a bit underrated. If the D stays solid, Benson runs well, and Dalton doesn't turn the ball over they will surprise a few teams.

I don't think there is a qb controversy for the team but rather for the misguided fans. If the team falls behind Tebow won't air it like Orton. Maybe if the fans ever gave him a little support things would be a little different. New coach, different system, chants for Tebow, rain. Poor guy.
take cincy here Denver has too much drama and a lot of wrinkles to iron out under coach fox |

Denver's line play is awful and they got done playing the arch rival Raiders after midnight Tuesday morning. Not much time to prepare.
Run....Benson...A LOT. Bengals cover. I agree on the teaser route too. The Broncos cannot beat someone by double digits.

Both these teams confuse me....Denver can show up from time to time but Like Nac said its always when they are losing a game...they are missing the heart of their Defense but on the surface it does look like they have enough offense to at the very least play a close game with Cinci, moreno is a good runner Orton will throw the ball and you dont need to have a super bowl defense to limit options for that Cinci offense....that being said its hard to say that Cinci can go into Mile High and walk out with a win.....I cant offer alot of advice on this one its too hard to bet on which team will suck less...GL with whatever play you go with

Moreno has yet to prove he's even classified as a "good" runner, in my eyes.
I want him to succeed. It's him that doesn't seem to want to lol I personally don't understand the confusion, and am disagreeing completely with resteasy. There's no misguided fans. Denver fans know that Orton wasn't good enough to win a SB with a Chicago defense that at the time was the best in the league and all he had to do was game manage. Now he's in a situation where he needs to lead an offense and not make poor decisions, and yet he does. We're not misguided. We know when it's time to move on. Whether or not Tebow is the answer we seek, we all agree that Orton isn't. As I've said numerous times to my friends now, I will be betting against Denver each week until Orton is gone. Chances are I will be making money during that time, and I hope you all are as well. Last edited by The Nac; 09-16-2011 at 08:21 AM. |
