Cam Newton...

I am a believer that Cam Newton is the answer ultimately in Carolina. I thought this before last week, and I also think Arizona's defense made him look a little better than he really played. Cam has great size and is a great dual threat to run and pass. I just would like to know what the fellow CMallers are thinking about the quarterback in Carolina.

I'm right there with ya. Good arm, great mobility. If he can consistently put up decent numbers passing it should help out the Carolina run game a lot. Hopefully Steve Smith won't mail it in after 4 weeks this year and can help develop Newton in the passing game. I don't see him putting up numbers anywhere close to last week's against the Packers D, but the guy will be fun to watch this year.

I'm definitely a Newton fan. Kid has all sorts of potential to be a solid NFL QB. Very much looking forward to watching his career.

It's hard to judge anything on Cam at this point however, if he plays anywhere near like he played this past week, he will be a factor.

AND STEVE SMITH? I remember all the hype about Smith being an amazing WR, and Newton is certainly the QB Smith needs to gain all that hype back.

does AZ even play defense???

show me something against a defense and show me more than a game... hitting a WR on a fly route doesn't impress me.

I think he is the real deal. There will be plenty of ups and downs this year, but I think he will be the QB when Carolina next makes a playoff run in the future.

I think he will be an above average not great qb. He was basically playing against a college secondary last week. Wilson is an awful cover safety too as he proved last year. He comes back down to earth this week with multiple turnovers and an inability to move the offense.
