Cam Newton: I'm speechless!

I remember that last week people were asking if Cam Newton was for real.

1st drive: 6 for 7 for 90 yds and 1 TD pass.

Panthers are already up by 10 and Newton has 100 passing yards with 6 mins left in the 1st quarter. Again, this quarter won't define what he will do in the next 10 years, but can you find me one rookie QB ever to throw for over 500 yards in less than 5 quarters into his first NFL season?

It sure looks promising for the Panthers. Jimmy Claussen should start packing, he will never start again a game in this uniform.

Im not gonna say I knew he would do this well this fast

but I did know he came into a good situation

the panthers have a great, top 5 probably in the league oline, who suffered injuries last year

the defense is above average overall, and the pass defense specifically is top 10, also a lot of injuries last year

they had a great off season, getting two good pass catching tight ends

the kid doesnt have the mechanics, although they arent terrible, hes just head up, looking down field, confident

that said they are 7-9 at best
