Chargers +7 @ Patriots - Who Ya Got ?

Big Philip Rivers, and his chargers getting a full TD on the road. Not many would have predicted this line preseason.

What do we think boys ?

I'm saying Patriots by double digits. Maybe not two majors, but they will cover. San Diego is a notoriously slow starter, while Tom Brady is setting it off. They're O looks great, but the D will give up points. I also look for this game to go over, ESPECIALLY on the tease.

I say Patriots 34, Chargers 24

If Rivers has his best game they could walk away with the W. This may be a good ML play

sorry but if you are taking the patriots here i think you're either losing it or just in love with brady's performance from MNF. the only reason i would consider laying 7 against SD is because of the slow starts they've had the last few years but even still, rivers plays well in big games and the chargers defense is good enough to at least keep brady somewhat under control. the game will be close.

MNF wasn't a fluke. When Brady starts torching teams it lasts for weeks. We've seen this before. I don't think we've even seen the best of the Patriots offense yet. Expect Ocho to grab two TD's. He's no Moss, but when the offense starts to completely click, it wont matter.

Patriots 37, Chargers 17.

mnf wasn't a fluke. the patriots beats the dolphins by 2 TDs and brady torched a sub par defense.

the chargers defense is not the dolphins. patriots will not score 37 IMO

Watching SD struggle against a terrible Minny team its hard to think that they even have a chance of covering going into New England...we all know Brady isnt throwing 500+ yards every game but he doesnt need to in order to cover against the chargers....Pats by 7 looks like a slam dunk to me

As westcoast pointed out, the main reason to like the Pats here (if that's the side you're on) is because San Diego seems to hate the month of September. Slow starts have become the norm for them, but as soon as week 9 hits, get your popcorn ready.

I do like the Pats this week, and it'll be very interesting to see if they manage to get Ocho involved more. Plus I'm confused - who the hell is the starting RB in SD - Mathews or Tolbert? Because for a guy that was all hyped up when he was drafted (mostly by rjb), Mathews hasn't done shit. Reminds me of Moreno.

Again, also coming all the way from one side of the states to the other may play in to the game.

I think the Patriots and their fans will be fired up for this one and should give them a big edge at home. Also with the slow starting Chargers I wouldn't go against the Patriots here. Like them to cover

The Pats have a MASSIVE spread against a good team because they were lucky enough to go up against the worst performance by a secondary I have seen in a LONG time. Miami's corners couldn't keep up with ANY of the average-speed recievers of the Pats and their entire secondary couldn't make an open-field tackle to save their lives. San Diego WON'T have those problems. Expect a close one, and expect the Chargers to have a chance to win this one late...
