They are gone...really only a matter of time. I expect that a year from now after the Super Bowl the team will announce they are gonna play the 2012-2013 season at the Collesium and the following year after that move into their new digs Farmer's Insurance stadium or whatever it is

I have heard the NFL stopped bringing Super Bowls to San Diego because the city refused the NFL's request to improve the stadium.
With that said, it looks like they are going to try & force the city's hand by using re-location as the other alternative. It will be interesting to see how it all shakes down, but I hope they do stay in San Diego.

Yes the NFL said they wont bring back a Super Bowl until they either built a new one or upgraded the current one. Upgrading the current isnt an option the Chargers would want to go with because they want their own. The NFL used the Super Bowl as a way to push the city in to doing this for the Chargers but the city was bankrupt for a few years and nothing really got done. I hope they stay as well but the last potential site is downtown and that is a long shot trying to get the funding. Bittersweet tho even if they get a new stadium with the end of one of the best tailgating places in the country. Im treating this as their last season here most likely
