Oregon coach Chip Kelly said Monday that he turned down an offer from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers because he has "unfinished business to complete" with the Ducks.

Kelly and the Bucs had been deep in the process of finishing a deal Sunday night.

The Bucs moved on from Kelly quickly, calling former Green Bay Packers and Texas A&M coach Mike Sherman back for a second interview, a league source confirmed to ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.

The source said Sherman, who is also under consideration for Miami's offensive coordinator position, is the first candidate to be schedule for a second meeting.

The Tampa Bay Times also reported Sherman's second interview earlier Monday.

Kelly, who secretly interviewed with the Buccaneers last week, had been intrigued by the challenge of coaching at the highest level and not having to deal with parents and the NCAA oversights that are inherent to coaching in college, a source told ESPN's Joe Schad.

I'm a huge PAC 10 fan...chip kelly is a dick.
I wonder if he could get adults to play for him..he should stay in the NCAA IMO.

^^^ you dont know that

hed have to run a diff offense of course, unless hes dumb and tries to fit a square peg

people think that winning in the nfl is because of complex Xs and Os

its not, its about power and efficiency, a team learning a simple play and running it to perfection

also when and where to make a playcall

its not complex, in fact college football is much more creative

and drafting the players to fit

I have no idea if he would be successful, obviously hed have to change philosophies

some college coaches are stubborn and dont adapt

but adapting isnt hard, get a good coaching staff around him

personalities that motivate the right personnel, all you need, seems simple but its not

no reason he couldnt be successful, moot point because hes staying put for now

Moot point correct but show me one college coach in that system that has been successful in the NFL.....?? I'll go ahead and take world class athletes studying film on that "simple play run to perfection" than anything else. Glad he's staying, would have been a laugher....and it was IMO, so it really doesn't matter if "we don't know that" or not right?
