Chris Schultz on the rest of Week 12...
1:00 PM Sunday, November 27, 2011
Minnesota @ Atlanta (-9.5) Schultz Picks: Atlanta: -------------------------------------------------- The Falcons at 6-4 need to keep winning to keep pace with the 7-3 Saints in the NFC South. If this one was in Minnesota I would take the points but Matt Ryan in the Georgia Dome is always at his best. Falcons cover 9.5. 1:00 PM Sunday, November 27, 2011 Cleveland @ Cincinnati (-7.5) Schultz Picks: Cincinnati: ------------------------------------------------------ I can't see the Browns scoring a lot of points. The only time this year that the Browns have scored more than 17 points was Week 2, at the Indy Colts when they scored 27. The Bengals have to stay focused with two tough losses to the Steelers and Ravens now behind them. They must refocus. Bengals cover 7.5. 1:00 PM Sunday, November 27, 2011 Tampa Bay @ Tennessee (-3.5) Schultz Picks: Tampa Bay: --------------------------------------------------------- The Bucs have lost four in a row, but, all four were to very good teams. Chicago, at New Orleans, Houston, and at Green Bay. The Titans have won two of their last four, but the two wins have been over Indy and Carolina. The two losses, Atlanta and Cincinnati. I think the Bucs keep it close. Tampa Bay. 1:00 PM Sunday, November 27, 2011 Carolina (-3.5) @ Indianapolis Schultz Picks: Carolina: ---------------------------------------------------- There are two questions of interest as the final third of the NFL season begins. Can the Green Bay Packers go undefeated? And, can the Indianapolis Colts go the entire season without winning? Yes to both. Carolina covers 3.5. 1:00 PM Sunday, November 27, 2011 Arizona @ St. Louis (-3.0) Schultz Picks: Arizona: ------------------------------------------------ This is the 3-7 Cardinals against the 2-8 Rams, so not a lot of optimistic reference points. But the Rams go into this game without their two starting offensive tackles. For Arizona, linebackers Daryl Washington, Sam Acho, and cornerback Patrick Peterson all have bright futures. Arizona. 1:00 PM Sunday, November 27, 2011 Buffalo @ NY Jets (-8.0) Schultz Picks: NY Jets: ----------------------------------------------- Both teams are 5-5 with six games to go. The Bills have lost three in a row, the Jets two in a row. Three weeks ago the Jets physically dominated Buffalo, winning 27-11. Too many injuries for the Bills to compete for four quarters. Jets cover eight. 1:00 PM Sunday, November 27, 2011 Houston (-3.5) @ Jacksonville Schultz Picks: Houston: ----------------------------------------------------- The story in this game will be Matt Leinart, now the QB for the Houston Texans for maybe the rest of the season. But the Texans have a top defence, an excellent running game, and Andre Johnson. Coming off the bye...I like the Texans. Houston. 4:05 PM Sunday, November 27, 2011 Chicago @ Oakland (-4.5) Schultz Picks: Chicago: ------------------------------------------------- The Oakland Raiders could win the AFC West. They have won two in a row – at home over San Diego and at Minnesota. And they now get to play a Bears team with Matt Forte, but without Jay Cutler. Still, the Bears are good in all other areas of football. Chicago. 4:05 PM Sunday, November 27, 2011 Washington @ Seattle (-4.0) Schultz Picks: Seattle: --------------------------------------------------- Last week's 27-24 overtime loss against the Dallas Cowboys was Washington's mini-Super Bowl. I have to go with logic here, two wins by Seattle, six straight losses for Washington, the trend should continue. Seattle covers 4. 4:15 PM Sunday, November 27, 2011 New England (-3.0) @ Philadelphia Schultz Picks: New England: ------------------------------------------------------------- The Patriots have a very easy schedule to close out the season and could end the year 13-3 with home field throughout the AFC playoffs. The Eagles played their best game of the year, holding the Giants to 10 points. Very unlikely they will hold the Patriots to 10 points, too. Patriots cover 3. 4:15 PM Sunday, November 27, 2011 Denver @ San Diego (-7.0) Schultz Picks: Denver: ------------------------------------------------- The Denver Broncos have won four of their last five games. The San Diego Chargers have lost five in a row for the first time since 2003. The 31-20 loss in Chicago realistically ended any playoff opportunity for the Chargers. San Diego did beat Denver 29-24 in Week 4, but the Chargers have regressed since then. Denver. 8:20 PM Sunday, November 27, 2011 Pittsburgh (-10.5) @ Kansas City Schultz Picks: Pittsburgh: ---------------------------------------------------------- Coming off the bye week the Steelers are as healthy as they have ever been. Pittsburgh has two tough games against Cincinnati and at San Francisco to go. With a record of 7-3, the Steelers will be a playoff team. Steelers cover. 8:30 PM Monday, November 28, 2011 NY Giants @ New Orleans (-7.0) Schultz Picks: New Orleans: ----------------------------------------------------------- The Giants have lost two tough games – by seven to the 49ers and by seven to the Eagles last Sunday night. Now they have to play probably the second best offence, at home, and coming off a bye week. If the Saints can beat the Giants they will be one step closer to the division title and a home playoff game. Four of the last six for the Saints are in the Superdome. I'll take the Saints. |
