Chris Schultz on Wk 1

I will post Schultz' Weekly Picks and keep track of his ATS Record. Since this post will be burried by tomorrow morning I will bump it up afterwards ...

8:30 PM Thursday, September 09, 2010
Minnesota @ New Orleans (-5.0) Schultz Picks: New Orleans:
-----------------------------------------------------------

I think this time will be different. The Saints should win again, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was by more than five. Brett Favre without Sidney Rice is like Brady without Moss, Manning without Wayne or Rodgers without Driver. Saints will cover.

1:00 PM Sunday, September 12, 2010
Miami (-3.5) @ Buffalo Schultz Picks: Miami:
-------------------------------------------

A tempting underdog at home, the Bills looked good in their last two exhibition games - which of course means nothing! Their pass blocking is still a concern. Miami by a touchdown.

1:00 PM Sunday, September 12, 2010
Detroit @ Chicago (-6.0) Schultz Picks: Chicago:
-----------------------------------------------

All the free agency moves by the Bears should have them win plenty of one-on-one battles along the line of scrimmage. Mike Martz is a huge risk/reward man as offensive coordinator and I like the risk factor. You'll see the reward. Bears will cover.

1:00 PM Sunday, September 12, 2010
Oakland @ Tennessee (-6.5) Schultz Picks: Oakland:
---------------------------------------------------

Too many points? Chris Johnson is going to get his yards and Vince Young will make some plays, but Oakland may play to keep it close and win in the fourth. I don't think they will win, but I think they'll keep it close. Oakland covers.

1:00 PM Sunday, September 12, 2010
Cincinnati @ New England (-4.5) Schultz Picks: Cincinnati:
--------------------------------------------------------

I think the Pats will sruggle in first three months and play their best come December. The Bengals have a good QB in Carson Palmer and an underrated defence. Bengals cover.

1:00 PM Sunday, September 12, 2010
Carolina @ NY Giants (-7.0) Schultz Picks: Carolina:
--------------------------------------------------

It's a battle of physical teams which means low scoring. The Giants have an obvious advantage at QB, but the Panthers will play pressure free because no one expect much from them this year. Giants win but Panthers cover.

1:00 PM Sunday, September 12, 2010
Atlanta @ Pittsburgh (-2.5) Schultz Picks: Atlanta:
-------------------------------------------------

I thought the number would favour Atlanta. I feel and think the Falcons will be a surprise team this year. I may be right, I may be wrong. But this game will be a good indicator. Take Atlanta.

1:00 PM Sunday, September 12, 2010
Cleveland @ Tampa Bay (-3.0) Schultz Picks: Tampa Bay:
--------------------------------------------------------

There's so many unknown aspects to this game it's amazing. But it will be hot a heck in Tampa and the Bucs improved on D since Raheem Morris became more involved. Tampa covers in a bit of an upset.

1:00 PM Sunday, September 12, 2010
Denver @ Jacksonville (-2.5) Schultz Picks: Jacksonville:
-------------------------------------------------------

Health at RB is a problem in Denver and they may be going into this game without a proven performer. I don't see a distinct advantage for either team, so I'll take the Jags to cover by 3.

1:00 PM Sunday, September 12, 2010
Indianapolis (-2.0) @ Houston Schultz Picks: Indianapolis:
-------------------------------------------------------

Houston may just be the big surprise of the season. But if it was 3 1/2 or more against the Texans, which it's not. Manning with the ball late in the game? Colts win by 3 in a game that could go wither way.

4:15 PM Sunday, September 12, 2010
San Francisco (-3.0) @ Seattle Schultz Picks: San Francisco:
------------------------------------------------------------

In many ways, Mike Singletary has transferred his dedication and respect for the game to his players. It's working! Niners cover.

4:15 PM Sunday, September 12, 2010
Green Bay (-3.0) @ Philadelphia Schultz Picks: Green Bay:
--------------------------------------------------------

I like Green Bay - a team with talent everywhere but their secondary (because of injury). With Kevin Kolb against Aaron Rodgers, I'll take Rodgers. Packers cover.

4:15 PM Sunday, September 12, 2010
Arizona (-4.0) @ St. Louis Schultz Picks: Arizona:
------------------------------------------------

Logic says the Rams will improve and they have a QB in Sam Bradford that looks a lot like Matt Ryan. But it's his first NFL start, which should see him run 60 to 70 plays - not 20 to 30 like the exhibition season. Cards cover.

8:20 PM Sunday, September 12, 2010
Dallas (-4.0) @ Washington Schultz Picks: Dallas:
------------------------------------------------

I thought the number would be more considering the health of McNabb. If it was seven or more, I would have taken Washington as the home underdog. But Dallas is immensely and individually talented. They had a very poor exhibition season, but I don't care. Dallas covers.

7:00 PM Monday, September 13, 2010
Baltimore @ NY Jets (-2.0) Schultz Picks: NY Jets:
-------------------------------------------------

A great game with both teams having huge expectations in their respective divisions. But with Revis back, the Jets received an energy boost. It should be low scoring, but Jets by 3 is a logical choice. I like logic, make me feel good about myself. Jets by 3!

10:15 PM Monday, September 13, 2010
San Diego (-5.0) @ Kansas City Schultz Picks: San Diego:
-------------------------------------------------------

Rivers is as good as any QB in the NFL and with all the issues over contracts and free agency, their individual talent is superior to the Chiefs. A high profile team under the lights, the Chargers should be focused.
