Cowboys Offseason thread.......

Anything RJB can do we can do better!! Just kidding RJB. Just thought as a fellow homer I could get Cowboy nation a offseason thread of our own going..............First order of business is complete. Flozell will be a Cowboy for life. Now that "Mr. False Start" is signed we can shift the focus to getting Marion signed. He was offered the largest tender and I really think he will be resigned. Rumors are flying that Jerry is still interested in Moss and Pacman. Call me crazy but I would love to see Pacman get signed. With he and Newman at the corners and Henry moving back to saftey the secondary would make a immediate serious upgrade. Also, the Boyz and the Fins are supposedly close to a deal that would send Jason Ferguson (man does Parcels love this guy!!) to Miami for late round draft picks.

Sounds like Marion the Barbarian will be staying. Word is the Boyz are getting closer to getting a deal done.

Walker coming to DTown??

We've been telling you about the Cowboys' interest in Broncos receiver Javon Walker for a couple of weeks. Now that he's been released by the Broncos, Dallas is free to pursue the enigmatic receiver.

As Todd Archer points out on my old blog, Walker's former position coach in Green Bay, Ray Sherman, serves in that same capacity for the Cowboys. Sherman has a close relationship with Walker, and he was one of the people who consoled him when Broncos cornerback and Fort Worth native Darrent Williams died in his arms following a shooting in downtown Denver on Jan. 1, 2007.

Walker has had two strong seasons (2004 and 2006), but he missed almost the entire 2005 season and a large portion of 2007 with a knee injury. I've talked to a couple of people who said he's never been able to recover from Williams' death. Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is someone who believes that a change of scenery can have a tremendous impact on a player, as evidenced by Terrell Owens and Leonard Davis.

Don't underestimate Sherman's influence in Jones' decision-making. He gives him a lot of credit for T.O.'s success this past season.

Well the Cowboys are even thinner at CB now with the departure of Reeves. He signed with Houston and you would think the Boyz would think that the Pacman rumors could become a reality.

DeAngelo Hall possible??

Some interesting Cowboys news to pass along..........Everyone has heard the Pacman Jones stories but in a recent interview with DeMarcus Ware, Ware mentioned the possiblity of acquiring Hall when asked about Pacman. Ware stated...................

"The way I feel if they bring in Tank or DeAngelo Hall or whoever, they understand what's at stake."

Very true......but you know Jerry has been well documented for giving "second chances". I would much rather take a shot at Hall though. He and Newman would create an awesome duo!

I understand where you are coming from WC, but you also have to realize how bad the Boys need a CB like Jones. He also provides one of the best returners in the league. I think that he trully misses the game and that he is worth the risk.

Tank has been in no trouble whatsoever since coming to Dallas. TO has been great as well, even when all the haters said he would be a bust.
